ted, i am glad u had a NBA play today as we can continue our discussion from the other Day...ANYONE ELSE...please chime into the discussion...

FYI, I am on

NETS 750 ML -115
LAKERS 550 +2 -103

I am using alot of outs with relatively active accounts at pinny, SIA, intertops, B365usa, skybook (free 1/2 point), IIS (lay 105), My local, I also have accounts at Carib, ABC, WWTS but havent funded those in a while.

Most of these books I feel quite safe with, I know that SIA is a risk, however they are 45 minutes away from where I live so I hope they would treat me a bit better...LOL...

I manage my balance carefully, I try not to have ever more than 1K at SIA, & limit balances at other shops, to me I guess it is a bit of a risk/reward thing...I play 100$ to 500$ bets, maybe more if middling or scalping...

I guess I view it as a risk/reward thing, although I am aware my balance is at a greater risk with certain shops...I try to manage it carefully...the reward, is very juicy numbers (nets -115), I figure as I go along I will win a greater percentage of games due to this variance in the lines, & if one day I do lose my balance at a weaker shop, well It would have been more than covered by the amount of times the juicy line or the free 1/2 point saved me...do you get where I am going with this...I have been playing with some of these 'opiniated' books for 3 years with relatively no problems...I have for example won way more than 1-2K at SIA due to their 'opinions', what I am saying is I guess due to the past...even if I lost my account balance their today it would have paid for itself...

Of course this theory may not work aswell for a person who bets higher...but for the 100-500$ player...what is the harm in sending a book like skybook or SIA or IIS 500$ or so...if it means getting a much better number alot of the time...

THere are risks though...if you win alot with the risy book u can find urself with a larger balance than you want there...but luckily (touch wood) I have yet to be scammed by any online operation...

Savant:

First, just a thought that you might want to move a discussion like this to the Offshore Forum.

As we had discussed the other day, if you are comfortable with smaller amounts at a variety of books that may or may not be on firm ground, then by all means continue what you are doing. The amounts that you mention are not large and if you lose any of the money, you won't suffer much. That being said, at a higher level, it is a whole different story. Until you have personally felt the emotional and physical feeling of having your hard earned money stolen from you overnight with no recourse, then it is a bit easier to be trusting with your money. I hope that you never experience what I did two years ago. If you did, I can almost assure you that you would see things through a different set of eyes. You would find that the potential risk is not worth the reward.

Ted, good luck today, I'm gonna play NJ also..

SportsSavant, sounds to me like you have a great head on your shoulders, I would stay with this plan all the way!

I just can't fathum why people would leave large balances at ANY book!

i am sure you are probably right...you are also absolutely correct about how it is much different of a large vs small scale...for me...betting on the small scale & keeping balances low at riskier shops...it may be a good battle plan...but it clearly woudnt work for everyone....
