I figure the new Air Raid scheme has something to do with it as well. Has there ever been a good rushing team out of that type off offense? Seems like a totally different philosophy where the lineman get used to going backwards in pass protection, instead of going forwards with run blocking.

I'm not a big fan of it. But when you lack the talent of years past, you have to make up for it somewhere. OU isn't a Bama who can just line it up and dominate you. They've now got to have the big line spreads and a little trickery. I think when OU's OL matures next year they'll have more success running the ball.
