deserves honest answer.

I am not political at all. Keep that in mind. I know nothing of the two people running for president. I didnt even know there was a forum on this site until now that had anything to do with politics. With that all said, me and my wife have worked and saved a good bit of money. We are pretty close to getting a franchise sandwhich shop opened. Who will be the better president for the small business guy? Please explain in "normal guy" terms.%^_

To be honest the President is the puppet of the government. Neither president will make or break your buisness.

I would wait as well. Just gives you time to save more and less money to borrow.

I'd say McCain is better for you. Obama will force you to pay your workers more, give them more benefits, make it easier for them to sue you, make it harder for you to fire them, and that sort of thing. McCain wants to line the pockets of the guys selling you the franchise, but for that to happen, you need to be successful as well.

If you are opening a franchise sandwich shop...like a Subway, I can't imagine you would feel it as much as the higher-end restaurants. In fact you may thrive. I've taken a hit first hand in my retirement and investment accounts, but people have to eat, and if your business plan is solid, I am not convinced that waiting it out is a must. As for the election, flip a coin. I'm voting Mccain, but am not by any means thrilled with either ticket.

If you are here primarily for sports, I can see how you wouldn't venture outside of what most consider the Main Forums divided into sports. I didn't realize it for a while either.

best advice so far..

I wonder if folks genuinely realize the economic danger we are in right now.

People dont realize that its actually possible that in a few months, regardless of who is president, the world economy could collapse and hell unleashed upon us.:ohno:

Outside of opening a guns and ammo shop or a grain ware house of some sort, i dont see why you would open a business in this economic environment.
