talking you out of purdue:

--they don't play defense.
--they aren't as good on the road.
--Ohio St. confidence high after emotional road win.

Defense giving up about 450 yds per game, shitty kicker. there's more but thats enough.

this could be the Ohio State / Northwestern game of last year. An absolute blowout as far as i'm concerned. nationally, nobody cares one bit about this game, which is good cause ohio state will come out and dominate without any pressure on them

Pryor really impressed me last week in a hostile environment against a sound defense. I don't see much value in this game at all. Purdue has a good chance at a back door cover but then again they have a chance to get shut out as well. GL though if you end up playing it!!

i'd rather lay -23 on BYU at home vs new mexico
or even take'm as a first half play than play purdue
on the road. anyway you bet, good luck!

While this could be a classic trap play for OHIO ST, i would make sure who is QBing for Purdue before I made any bets..

Against Purdue:

  • Although Orton is great, he will not be utilized with this QB.
  • The defense was not too terrible against PSU but you bet that Pryor will shake things up more than Clark did.
  • Special teams, special teams, SPECIAL TEAMS.

capping ohio state with pryor is much different from capping ohio state with boeckman, who would be hard pressed to start at all the mac schools.

Ohio St. is a hard team to get a read on now. They don't score a lot of points and haven't covered any large numbers this year. I'm just waiting on them to turn the corner now that they have a QB. Boeckman was the weak link on this team. Terrible at avoiding the rush, holds the ball too long and throws picks against any good defense. He was a product of a good offensive line and a fairly weak schedule last year.

This might be a 1st half play on OSU.
I have been backdoored on many Big 10 games this year in the 4 quarter.

I was thinking the samething. I think with Beanie finally healthy, OSU should score 21 in the 1st half.

Purdue can't kick FGs, they are going to have to score 2 TD imo to cover the 1st half number, so unless OSU has a bad turnover inside their own redzone, I don't see Purdue covering the 1st half either. I also, think the number will be under 11, which good enough for me.

the other thing you have to worry about with tressel is he doesn't care if they win by 1 or 30... he is just as happy with either.

Thanks guys. Think Im going to wait and watch. Smells fishy which means nothing good can come of this. Like the 1st half idea though. The BYU idea would be great but they burned me bad last week on the side and team total. Up 34-0 in the 3rd qtr I believe and I had their team total at 44 and they never scored again.

That is the problem in blowouts, with the exception of Texas Tech, most teams are going to run fullback dives up by 30+ points. Tech is the only team that will continue to throw.
