Hannity Book Skyrockets to Top of N.Y. Times Best-Seller List

Just a week after its release, Sean Hannity's "Deliver Us From Evil: Defeating Terrorism, Liberalism, and Despotism," has skyrocketed to the top of the New York Times best-seller list.

Confirming a Drudge Report on the book's Times' list ranking, Hannity told his Fox News Channel audience Wednesday night that his book "will debut on 'The New York Times' list on March 7 number one."

The sales achievement is particularly impressive, considering an almost universally negative reception by mainstream pundits, who complain that Hannity's title unfairly paints liberals as soft on terrorism.

But the same commentators who object to Hannity's book have yet to cover the major news it breaks, a letter uncovered by the top talker where Democratic presidential front-runner John Kerry complained in 1986 that President Reagan was wrong to retaliate for terrorist acts against U.S. targets orchestrated by Libyan strongman Moammar Gadhafi.
In his screed Kerry griped that it was a "mistake" for Reagan to have targeted the "head of state of another country - no matter how repugnant we find the leader."

"We are not going to solve the problem of terrorism with this kind of retaliation," he warned. "There are numerous other actions we can take, in concert with our allies, to bring significant pressure to bear on countries supporting or harboring terrorists."

No wonder the pro-Kerry press doesn't like "Deliver Us from Evil."

What does that mean? If I set off a battery bomb at a US/Canada border crossing, should Junior launch the nukes at all of Canada?

NY Times BestSeller List as of today:

HARDCOVER NONFICTION
Top 5 at a Glance
1. The Price of Loyalty: George W. Bush, the White House, and the Education of Paul O'Neill, by Ron Suskind
2. American Dynasty: Aristocracy, Fortune, and the Politics of Deceit in the House of Bush, by Kevin Phillips
3. Give Me a Break : How I Exposed Hucksters, Cheats, and Scam Artists and Became the Scourge of the Liberal Mediam by John Stossel
4. MY PRISON WITHOUT BARS, by Pete Rose with Rick Hill
5. THE FABRIC OF THE COSMOS, by Brian Greene

So that's two of the top three that are anti-Bush, and the third is more about big business and bureaucracies.

The United States once declared war on Canada because a Canadian killed an Americans pig.

I don't read into that NY Times best seller list too much.

Remember, Hilary Clinton and Michael Moore's books were up on that list. Since then, it doesn't mean much to me.
