There are a number of reasons for these rules and its something new that I am going to try. If it turns out to be a disaster, It wont be used for future contests, but I think it is going to work just fine.

Reasons

1) the idea behind these contests is to promote the sponsor sportsbook, this rule requires people to visit the WSEX website every day, which is ultimatley what WSEX wants.

2) it is more of a 'pure' handicapping contest this way, and prevents professional contest entrants from simply playing 'steam' all the time. Playing 'steam' is a very powerful tool, and there are many contest entrants that have this system mastered and often find themselves on top of contests. This makes things much more fair for all, those that are not around a computer all day, still have an equal shot of winning.

3) I do not beleive it will be hard to monitor at all, why? because I do not beleive that people will cheat.... after all, they will be embarassed if they try to cheat and they are called out, and if they are accused more than once they will be kicked out of the contest. I trust that the honor system will work just fine.

actually, its not my call. All these contests have to be approved by the sponsor books, and one of the HUGE selling features this contest had for WSEX is that it would draw repeat traffic to their site from people who had User Names and Passwords. WSEX has always been a book to shy away from these types of promotions in the past.

Can we just copy/paste our plays? Would avoid disputes.

Also, is it just sides or can we use totals and Alt run lines?

once the game starts that would be the limit Id imagine for reproting a bad line right? what if a poster posts as the game goes off and have a bad line (by error or on purpose who knows) and there is no chance to catch it?

how about we use posted lines but cut and paste something from the WSEX baseball lines web site which each pick to prove we visited that web site...

There needs to be a penalty for false accusations.

You can copy and paste if you want and just add the ML....

The contest is only ML's.....

I think it will work out fine as is.... This is a monthly contest, if it turns out to be a problem, the next months will be re-evaluted.

The base unit for this contest is 100$.

If you are laying minus vig/juice you are risking whatever it takes to win 100$.

If you are getting plus vig/juice you are risking 100$ to win whatever your odds are.

Thx for that, but i meant can we bet 3 plays a day for the whole month, or is there a max to how many individual bets we can place?

I thought it was quite clear in the rules? did you re-read them? hno:

nonetheless, the answer is you MUST make a minimum of 25 plays each month, there is no maximum. (I guess I didnt put the No max part in the rules, thought it was implied from the word 'minimum')

remember also, there are 2 days off every week in this contest so that means there are 20 days available to play.
