Guys,
The spreadsheets are updated as of Friday, February 20th. Hopefully you guys will be able to catch a few mistakes that might need to be corrected. In the meantime, I have to say that while I think this is a great idea, I'm clearly not in a position to execute it as well as I originally hoped.
So, here is my call for help! !~~~!
I would appreciate it if some of you might be willing to volunteer one day per week to update the spreadsheet. If we all take 1 day, I think this will run much more smoothly and effectively. I have spent countless hours the last few days trying to arrange and organize everything, but it's just too much work to keep up with. At least without a break, anyway.
Here is how I've been keeping updated with the spreadsheet (and please, if there's an easier way to do this, I'm all ears):
Step 1: Open up the Service Plays thread and record all of the picks on a sheet of paper. List the handicapper, then the picks beneath them.
Step 2: After all the picks are recorded, go back through each of them and score them as a win and a loss. Then, total up whether the win was NBA or College Hoops, a side or a total, and note if it was a GOM or GOY if necessary.
Step 3: Insert the data into a spreadsheet and update the records.
Since there's 120 handicappers plugged into the spreadsheet right now, it's taking me anywhere between 1 hr and 3 hrs to get everything in order the way it needs to be. Obviously, once we trim the number down to say 50 or 60, this will go much more smoothly and shouldn't take much time at all.
For those of you who haven't been following along, the daily spreadsheet can be found at http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=pzdvF2P6sQPLgBnA2a1XLGw&hl=en
Also, I have been posting daily Service Plays in spreadsheet form so that you can see which cappers are on which games. Judging by the volume of people who have opened the sheets, I'm hoping they are helpful. These sheets will be posted here on the message board, and also at www.capperswatch.wordpress.com.
Thanks everyone for your continued patience (and help!)
