Last cat ( named Animal ), died by vecihleur catocide. New kitten, similar looking to Animal, picked by wife. I think Animal name should be retired, step-daughter agrees !

Animal2, doesn't work ! Kitty is very thoughtless, not that Animal was my literary peak.

By chance , I was sweeping the basement, kitty kept interfering, I said get out of the way "Cooter", I like it " . Wife is thinking about " Buffy". Cooter went on to be a senator, or something, ( Dukes of Hazzard ).

Wife is type that has to order last at a restaurant, so she sees what everyone else has first, non-decisive type !

She picked the kitten, because it looks like deceased cat, can't name it ?

I want her to name it, so whatever the cat does wrong , is her cat doing it !

I'll take some suggestions, suggest away ! I can live with Buffy, but Cooter Kitty sounds cool. When cat barfs, I prefer Buffy!

Doug in case you haven't noticed this is a gambling forum not some kind of sewing circle. An occasional off topic is one thing but continued spamming of feeble minded threads is another. Keep this stuff in the rubber room or find an appropriate forum for it.

Thank you, wilheim

I think it's time to hang the "We've Already Got A Journeyman" sign on the door.

DougJ, Your "last to order in the restaurant" story sums it all up beautifully. Nicely written.

Willhelm, Your "some kind of sewing circle" comment sums it all up beautifully. Nicely written.

Truelyhandicapping, Your "Let your step daugher name it" suggestion sums it all up beautifully. Nicely written.

I guess I have nothing valuable to say, but I do admire all of your wit and way with words.

Important update:

Rob Funk: "Cooter" seems to have settled in as the name. Although a gatita ( female kitten), named after a male sit-com character, I think few will notice that.

Truely: Your suggestion of letting step-daughter name it is a good one, but nothing came forward from it.

Yellow: I had snakes before ( a pair of boas). I was sorta planning on breeding them, didn't work out well ! I even starting breeding rats to feed them ( I lived on the wrong side of the train-tracks in Carlsbad, CA, back then (early 80's). My female boa, was killed by a hamster, I fed her, the male got his down ,OK !

After awhile as Joe, grew, I started to grow fearful of him, plus most chicks didn't dig a huge aquarium with a snake, and a rat-farm on the patio. My failed effort at snake-breeding !

If I went for another reptile, it would be an iguanna. A local restaurant I frequent ( a breakfast place ) has photos of pets. There is one of an iguanna ,and grown cat drinking from a water bowl. Pretty funny !

I like having a pet of some sort, a cat seems easiest ! A kitten has it's problems, but grows out of it. I can't wear shorts while sitting at the computer, Cooter insists on climbing up on me, thus scratching the hell out of my legs.

You have to be real cold to not accept a purring kitten. I could never feed a kitten ( or cat) to a snake. A mouse/rat etc. is different.

Iguanas are graceful, majestic creatures that deserve to run free and rule the warm climates, Doug....don't imprison one for your amusement and for your stepdaughter to feed wilted lettuce to and your wife to name "Iggy" after waffling on the issue for several weeks.

As for boas, Carolina Panthers safety Jarrod Cooper was almost strangled to death in his bathtub by his constrictor snake (might have been a python) a few years ago. He was about to lose consciousness when he found a steak knife and beheaded his "pet." After the incident, Cooper was quoted as saying, "It was me or him, and I wasn't going out like that. I guess I'm a little sad for him, but it's not like it was a puppy dog or something you get real attached to."

Avoid the reptiles, Doug.

The lady across the street from where I live has a cat named Pussy....at least I think she does. I always hear here at night yelling out the door, "here puss puss puss." I yelled out my door one night and asked her if she lost something lol.
Well, what was I supposed to say..."I found your pussy."
