Saw them at Irvine Meadows when Garcia was alive. Respect the group, but never was able to really get into them.

Saw them once, and then later incarnations at the Further Festival twice (and saw Bob Weir's RatDog a couple of times as well, which I actually enjoyed more than the Dead/Further.) Never really saw the attraction to the Dead myself, but two of the Mrs. Phaedruses were very into them.

the fascination with the dead is the way that the 'jam' or 'improvise' any show. No two shows...ACTUALLY, even the same song!!! is never played exactly the same way twice...

DEAD always encouraged people to share music for free & allowed, even AIDED people to tape their shows & trade them for free (not like today's greedy artists).

DEAD's following was for such a reason... their fans enjoyed the LIVE music...

IMAGINE seeing that fag ROD STEWART 5 NIGHTS in a row

by the fifth night...

With 'Jam' Bands... or the DEAD it would be a DIFFERENT show every evening...

Great band in concert. The last tour with Jerry was terrible. He would forget some of the words, you could not understand him at all. You could tell the rest of the band was fed up with him. Has anyone seen them without Jerry? They were one of a kind
