Race 1 Santa Anita
Speed vs. more speed in this 6.5f sprint. I'm looking for a horse that doesn't need the lead because there's sure to be at least a 3 horse duel. Mike Smith doesn't usually get my juices flowing but he's bound to improve GOT THE MESSAGE.
The bet: $10 ex box 1-2
thanks mazel - sorry about the mazel baby at Keeneland, I'll be playing the entire SA card today and would love your input if you see any standouts or live shots.
edited to say the 3 remonte. loved the two sprint stretch out angle and the very juicy overlay at 7/1. c, we teamed up for a nice exacta. i'll be around most of the day and will post in this thread.
Race 3 Santa Anita
FJ'S PACE is certainly fast but there looks to be some tough closers in here. I'm a big Canani fan and even though he has 1/3 of the field I can't back either horse. KACHAMANDI would certainly have ended his 0 for SA drought if not for the trouble in last. Will a clean trip make the difference today? I think so.
The bet: $20 Win #3
well, the favorite looks tough, may take a small swing the the second timer, unusual summer, the #12 horse with atkinson. should go better after being hustled up after a tardy start in his debut.
sds,
watching the post parade, the horse looked frisky and ready to run. hard to explain - she just looked healthy to me. I remembered I had bet this horse when she broke her maiden and that's what initially led me to do a double take. I guess sometimes it's better to be lucky than good, eh?
Race 6 SA
RISTRA strikes me as a filly that, if fit, could make a dent here. Kingmambo on top gives me confidence and Kent riding only adds to the appeal. Looking at better than 20-1 right now. The Frankel horse has the look of an animal that is being pointed to something bigger down the road. Wouldn't touch that one with a ten ft pole.
The bet: $10 WPS #8
