Should be interesting
The already loaded Ocean’s franchise keeps upping the star power. New for Ocean’s 13 will be Al Pacino, who’s being added alongside George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, and the rest.
The Guardian says Pacino will play the owner of a high-profile hotel and casino in Las Vegas. It’s probably safe to assume that his casino will be receiving a clandestine visit from George and his gang of thieves.
It’s also nice to hear that the Ocean’s series is returning to Vegas as their primary place for capers. Europe is nice, but it can’t match the gaudy glitz of Sin City. And really, glitter and glitz is what Ocean’s is supposed to be about anyway. It’s certainly not about plot.
Pacino last appeared in theaters in the mostly ignored sports betting movie Two For the Money, and he recently appeared on my living room high def as the great Satan in The Devil’s Advocate. If he appears in your living room on a Scarface poster, you’re probably a gangsta rapper, or at the very least spectacularly uncreative. Al’s just finished filming something called 88 Minutes and in addition to kicking back and having a good time in Ocean’s 13 he’s slated to star in the upcoming movies Riffi and Torch. Riffi’s a crime drama and Torch is a touchy feely relationship drama.
