money is going to be more evenly spent than originally thought because of the huge advantage the RNC will have over the DNC.

DNC numbers are suppose to be coming in this weekend...scratch that they must have just come in (below)....good numbers from DNC...cash on hand Republicans still have advantage

DNC Out-Raises RNC For First Time This Cycle

The Democratic National Committee has announced that they raised $27.7 million for the month of July, just edging out the RNC's $26 million, the first time this whole cycle that the usually-underfunded DNC has outdone the RNC. The DNC, including its joint committee with the Obama campaign, has $28.5 million cash on hand, bringing the Democratic total with the Obama campaign to $94.3 million -- just narrowly behind the Republicans' aggregate total of over $100 million on hand.

have to keep in mind mccain is locked into public funding so all that money he has needs to be spent before the convention...it's considered primary money

you guys are missing the point

Factor in the RNC & DNC and the Republicans have the money advantage

Spending will be very very equal for the election

you could argue though that the greater # of donors obama has makes him in a better organizational advantage since he probably has more small donors who are likely to not just give their money but volunteer their time

I don't think so. I remember a while back he flip-flopped on it and even though it's obvious he is breaking the rules I think they are still playing under the assumption he wont be taking public financing. I think the FEC is basically not meeting or no doing anything about it. Please correctme if i'm wrong.....and if so a link would be appreciated.

nope

he's taking the public funding

Republican rival Sen. John McCain of Arizona raised $27 million in July and has $21 million in the bank. He has to spend that money quickly because he is accepting federal public financing for the general election, while Mr. Obama is not. The McCain campaign said it has received money from 600,000 donors — fewer than one-third the number of people the Obama team has.

then why is he not winning by more than the margin of error?

and why are the polls trending in the wrong direction?

BTW: ask Ron Paul what raising all that money meant to him. I'm certain he was raising more than John McCain, and he lost. You statement is thus categorically incorrect.

ive come to learn that polls mean nothing. money is everything in these type of contests plus nobody likes mccain. at least obama has people that like him, instead of mccain voters who are just voting against obama. can never win with that type of candidate

common sense would tell you there are more dedicated obama supporters then mccain supporters.

whenever people talk about voting for mccain, the repubs say they will reluctantly vote for mccain. i bet alot of those people stay home this year.
