When presidential candidates answer questions from children about why they want the job, most will give an answer that uplifts the child and the candidate. Not Barack Obama. At a campaign stop in Elkhart, Indiana, a seven-year-old girl asked the messiah why he wants to be President -- and he told her that America has gone downhill:

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/d667NAI9HIM&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/d667NAI9HIM&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
America's not so great? This is what you say to a seven year old? :icon_conf

Does that doom-gloom sounds familiar? Michelle Obama sounded similar themes earlier in the campaign:

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/BogJvgdH6eo&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/BogJvgdH6eo&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/7WNGjawtP48&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/7WNGjawtP48&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

So when were the "good old days," Barack?

Morning in America: 1980s? I doubt it, and if he means the Clinton era, well then why did he run against Hillary in the first place? :think2:

Once again, the messiah got off his teleprompter and put his foot directly in his mouth. He’s not selling Hope, he’s selling DESPAIR, and HIMSELF as the snake oil that will cure us of all our ills.

Obviously America is starting notice -- witness Obama's nosedive in the polls. His handlers can't get him out of the spotlight fast enough!

Good luck at the debates, Barack Marx! :finger:

O! say can you see by the dawn's early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming.
Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming.
And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

Always been that way.If there aren't any issues they'll invent one.

look at my avatar.

Your "avatar" just killed a friend of mine named Leo while he was waiting on an operation in "your" health care system.

He'd be alive today if he had traveled south for an operation in that hopeless place you like to dis every chance you get. Your reputation precedes you so taking anything you say seriously won't happen... your saving grace. That's about as messed up as Leo's plight.

No worries, Conan. According to gtc, the Canadian govt has promised to "fix" that minor glitch in the system. Stop suggesting Canadians aren't well taken care of. Socialized health care is fair and moral -- just ask the people who support it. :puke1:

My condolences, Conan -- RIP Leo.

If your friend had a suitcase of money why didn't he buy airfare and go get the operation? See in America you don't wait for that operation, you just don't get it, period. Plus if your friend had a house the US medical system would have been glad to have him put it up against the cost of the operation, then take it for non-payment.

Bullshit you lying sack of shit. There are private hospitals and then there are public funded.

Public funded operate anybody regardless of insurance or income and simply write that off to the govt and eventually taxpayers.

31 minutes is the average wait time in US emergency rooms. You know jack shit.

The average time that patients have to wait in hospital emergency rooms has grown from about 38 minutes to almost an hour over the past decade, according to new statistics released Wednesday.

The increase is due to supply and demand, according to Dr. Stephen Pitts, the lead author of the report by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Overall, about 119 million visits were made to U.S. emergency rooms in 2006, up from 90 million in 1996 — a 32 percent increase.

Meanwhile, the number of hospital emergency departments dropped to fewer than 4,600, from nearly 4,900, according to statistics.

Another reason for crowding is because patients who are admitted to the hospital end up waiting in the ER because of the limited number of hospital beds.

actually though an hour isnt too bad either.....

You just solved the healthcare problem of the US, now everybody is covered. We don't need universal healthcare because everybody is already covered.

When i ever went to the ER i never waited less than 3 or 4 hours. This i never understood this because there were never alot of people waiting. Don't mistake ER care for healthcare.

No universal health insurance: 44 million citizens without medical insurance (1999), or one every six citizens, which makes the US the last in the developed world, lower than Russia, China, India and even all of South America. Only a few African countries fare worse. Every year thousands of USA citizens die because they didn't have the money to cure themselves, and thousands turn into criminals because they can't pay hospital bills. If you have dual citizenship, you can always fly back to your country of origin and get good and free health care. But for most USA citizens a simple sport injury is enough to ruin their entire life. Whatever system the USA has right now (an absurdly complicated patchwork of benefits and providers that makes you miss the bureaucracy of communism), it is the most expensive in the world and one of the most ridicule failures in the history of medical care: the World Health Organization ranked the US only 37th among world's countries in the quality of health coverage (2000). It is embarassing that in the year 2000 the wealthiest country in the world still cannot offer free health care to all of its citizens.

They use to turn people away all the time until the government set a law that everyone must be treated.

The Right to Emergency Medical Care
If you have a health emergency and go to a hospital with an emergency room, you have the right to be evaluated, treated, and stabilized. It is against federal and state law for a hospital with an emergency room to turn you away for any reason, including because you have no way to pay, or because you are an undocumented immigrant.

Remember, ER care is not healthcare.

its a fundamental disagreement we have then

I dont believe anything beyond life or death situations should be a citizens right.

I have the right to better care for paying more into the system

no?

Why do you believe equality of outcomes is a good thing?

Should an engineer have the same quality of life as a Waffle House line cook?

Legacy wealth accounts for what % of wealth do you think? And what percentage is simply a man working harder?

Where is your human spirit? Do you live to only complain?
