Obama calling this cop stupid is a bigger disgrace than anything I can remember, especially when he said he didn't know all the facts of the incedent....but he made sure that this question was brought up during a health rationing press conference.

"But I think it's fair to say, No. 1, any of us would be pretty angry; No. 2, that the Cambridge police acted stupidly in arresting somebody when there was already proof that they were in their own home; and, No. 3 ... that there's a long history in this country of African-Americans and Latinos being stopped by law enforcement disproportionately."

Obama has bigger fish to fry (or burn). He has absolutely no business, much less right, to comment on what is actually an everyday domestic matter. When anyone reverts to saying "you don't know who you are messing with", it pretty much tells you that he has issues. This whole incident says more about the prof than it does about the police officer.

This is an utterly false allegation as the subsequent report details that all of Mr Gates yelling and vocal insults took place on his own private property.
Here's hoping that Gates files a civil complaint against the officer and his agency and prevails so that in the future other officers from that same agency will realize the distinction between private and public property.

As for Obama's ancillary role to this story, he'd be better served to getting shit straight in Washington DC before he gets too caught up in "evaluating" individual police conduct on what was in the end - a rather routine situation (all things considered).

The charges were dropped because Gov Deval (Obama clone) Patrick called the mayor of Cambridge to havve them dropped.(there should be an investigation of this). So now this leaves Cambridge open to a law suit.
The cop had probable cause and acted within the intent of the law and procedure.
If the fuckin idiot Gates had cooperated and acted like a fuckin human being the whole thing wouldn't have made the papers and would have been over in five minutes.
