Take it! I just took BO at -200 yesterday, but also took Mac @+335 at Matchbook. Various books have a differing take on election. It is a scalpers paradise!

where'd you get -200? would like a piece of that.

Intrade has consistently had a lower price on Obama different from all of the other markets out there (betfair, matchbook, other sportsbooks, iowa markets, etc etc). Someone has been manipulating the price there for whatever reason. No big deal, but I don't think it's right to say that Intrade is a true market reflection.

And by the way, I'm very happy that this has been the case.

-200 was available at Carib yesterday, max of $100 to win. Carib has consistently been lower than any offshore on Obama's odds. They appear to be inviting Obama money, but only at max $100 to win.

Now -460/+420 at Matchbook. I think it might peak in the low -500's for awhile. There is a bit of a ceiling before election day as regardless of what the polls say you can never quite know for sure what actually will happen and there will always be people looking to bet on a surprise.

Ive got about 12% of my bankroll at average odds of Obama -130.

I wondering wether to be greedy and ride it out as a LOCK or protect myself a bit....

If I protect myself, should I wait a bit or grab thes odds of +420 now?

I still remember Last year when BUSH was +300 or more on the morning of the election and wound up winning.

You mean 4 years ago. If that was the case you might want to hedge. I think it would be a waste of money but you would still make a nice profit if your hedge loses. I don't think there's anyway Mccain wins at the point. Bush did lose in 2004 until they fixxed the outcome of the Florida votes. This will not happen this year. Again hedge is a waste of money, but it will protect your position against the unthinkable happening.

Well done. I assume you use Matchbook? Matchbook seems to have good odds on the McCain side (at least as compared to Intrade and it's a market so you don't have huge juice). You might start nibbling on McCain over +400 by making offers to get good prices.

forgive me for this dumb question, but what is the forumula for converting Intrade odds to American Style Pricing.

Say intrade is selling OBAMA at 70, how would I convert that to USA style pricing, ive got a forumla, but I dont think its the simplest one.

thanks

Well one way is that Intrade has a converter chart. I printed it out and have it pasted on my wall. Or, for example, 70 would be 70/30=2.333 is +233.
