I signed up at Magic Oasis a week ago or so and had until today wagered 4 times ( not more then $2000. As announced on their webpage i had received an 10% sign up bonus as a new player bonus. Now then today i could suddenly see that my initial sign up bonus was subtracted from my account, I did of course send the book an email to hear why that was the case. I received this as answer:

We offer bonuses to customers that are recreational bettors, not ones that are looking to bet our line when it is a few cents off,or customers that are looking to bet our overnight lines that happen to be off.It seems like the only bets you have made are those that happen to be off a few cents. Thats fine but we are not going to give those customers
bonuses,or pay them to keep our line fresh,we have a service wepay money to monthly to do that for us.You may continue to wager if you wish but you are not elgible for any bonuses.

I have wagered 4 times varieng from $250 to $800, I find it rather amusing that they then pull out crap like this. Though I really think that they have flase advertisement. Of course ppl play the best lines from multiple books thats what as I see it the big advantage with online gambling. But guess Oasis doesnt see it that way. STAY AWAY FROM OASIS

lol - from their website ...

"Magic Oasis is owned by Angel De La Manana S.A., a Costa Rica corporation operating under the laws of Costa Rica."

"Magic Oasis Casino is legally licensed and fully insured."

"Magic Oasis was audited and certified by the leading online casino supervisory authorities. We got audited and certified by SafeBet.org and received GOLD rating in April 2001."

So, I go to the SafeBet website and find a dead screen, no links or contact info - very odd for a watchdog organization, don't you think?? Too funny. The WHOIS directory for this site shows that a SafeBet Organization Inc. in Atlanta, Georgia registered the domain name in September 2002, with no technical contact listed. The WHOIS listing for the sportsbook says CR, with a Manuel Gutierez of World Egaming listed, and it was registered in May 2000.

IMO. SafeBet is a complete scam, probably just a dummy site set up to lend legitimacy to this sportsbook.

Ah, so you're NOT referring to Magic Oasis at http://www.magicoasis.com/ - then never mind

Oasis is actually a somewhat solid shop which pays fast but if you bet ANY move they'll remove bonus, limit, or kick you out.

They run dual lines too.

hehe yeah thank you, but i just dont understand a thing like this? As the business is today noone holds just one book, of course we as players use the given tools. Why does a book advertise with a bonus if their intention is to withhold it anyways? If they think shopping is abusing their bonus system then really I dont think they should offer any bonuses at all. As a player I go for the value and isnt that the idea behind gambling?

Troelson I agree with you. Take away the bonus because you won't bet their worst lines or use more than one out? Irritates me to see stuff like this go on against the players....

At least be upfront about it. Some shops are pretty adamant about no wiseguys but they let you know ahead of time. When shops go back in later and take stuff away from players it is wrong.

You and/or Buzzsaw should get in touch with these guys. Oasis is out of Curacao, and I was under the impression that this was a legit shop.

This kind of stuff really sucks. Playing steam moves is one thing, but if this guy was only line shopping, then this move by Oasis is no good.
