These guys have to be the first candidate for play-in game wouldn't you say? I remember when San Jose St stunned the NCAA and won the WAC tourney with a record like this. Even being champs of a respected conference they were a 16 seed and got waxed by Kentucky.

roflmao Anyhow, how can they play when illinois will, in all likelihood, play the winner of the play-in game. Isn't Oakland already in? Or are there really 65 in's to the ncaa tourny + the play in game.....

Oakland is definitely in the play-in game. Unfortunately, Oral Roberts won't be getting in. They played some good games against decent competition this year and probably would have been a nice dog in the first round.

Oakland will be in the play-in game for sure. Most likely UNC will play the winner of the play-in, because of scheduling - Illinois will be in Chicago regional, which is Thursday-Saturday, while the play-in winner has to play its "1st" round game on Tuesday followed by another 1st round game on Friday, and the Charlotte regional goes off on Friday, probably with UNC as the #1 seed. But Oakland will probably be at least +6 even in the play-in game, unless another team with a really horrible record wins their conference tourney as well.

Not that it would matter, since the 16th seeds will not come within 35-40 points of NC or Illinois.

Oakland Mich is a nice story though. They are in Valpos conference, only played Div 1 ball for 8 years now. Valpo hasn't exactly been competitive in the NCAA's the last few years either.

so its a revenge game then. And Illinois is over-confident. I like Oakland on the moneyline a lot.

Always look for teams peaking this time of year to pull the upsets

Oakland has a better chance of winning the National Championship then Auburn does in Football and they ran the table in argubaly the best conference. Go March madness !!

Very nice to see what Oakland did with scheduling. They played all very strong teams from strong conferences for their non conference schedule...only makes you that much better at the end of the season in your conf tourney. Good job Oakland for scheduling @ Xavier, @ Illinois, Marquette, @aTm, @ Missouri, @ Kansas St, @ Saint Louis. Started 0-7. Also played at Michigan State midseason. I think they deserve to win that dog crap conference and get their bid for the schedule they played.

This team will get beat like a red headed stepchild in the tourney, but no way I'm giving 30ish. Once their opponent gets up by 20 or so, they will drop back into "lets rest up for the next game" mode.

Seen this over, and over, and over.
