After a lot of thought and I hate to say it as I believe in freedom 100% for all. (Prosecute him with tolerance) NY does a GREAT job (no city on earth is it's equal) in folks getting along. Let's examine my statement. New York has every ethnic group on earth living there. It's an accident waiting to happen. Yet surprisingly, the folks living there get along better with each other an outsider might suspect.
I'll allways have a love-hate feeling about NY City. But credit is due them in what that have handled over the years.
I rarely side WITH government. Here I do.... Nothing at all against Plexico. I like the guy. Plus the law is a bit too tough for this particular type of thing. We don't know all the facts, yet. I have to think maybe he actually did not know the law. Yes ignorance is no excuse--but let's be reasonable here.

3.5 years is a long sentence, but the argument will be made, what if someone else besides him got shot.

I say give him 10 years probation, he violates, give him 3.5 years. I don't know if he has had a past criminal history.

you can drive around drunk off your ass in a car and get caught 3 times before you get a felony and do jail time

take a gun in public and pop yourself in the leg have fun with bubba doing 3 1/2 years

just don't make much sense....the crime don't fit the punishment

obviously in both cases if you hurt somebody or kill somebody u in deep shit....

NY libs just got it out for guns so they got ridiculous gun laws

much like DC has ridiculous gun laws and crime is sky high

Because Congressional reps and Senators drink and drive as well.

I agree with you D&D should be a harsh penalty, not a warning until you have been arrested 14 times.

I guess central to my argument is "knowing THE law". I mean NY city is not exactly -your average everyday place to be .
Yet--having a hidden gun is not exactly something or somebody, I would want to be with.

I think there are states (WISH ALL OF THEM HAD IT). No using cell phone while driving-that dates me of course. But put UP a SIGN!

Right. Check the facts before you spew.

In NY, you can get up to a year and $1000 for your first DWI. And up to 4 and $5000 for your 2nd.

If someone else got shot, then there would be more charges.

3.5 years for carrying a weapon is a complete joke in any light.

My state (WA) passed a law like that a while back, and people simply don't know about it or ignore it completely.

From what I have heard, usually people just get a slap on the wrist or a fine.

Yes Intrinzik. Problem is that laws are made to protect 99.9999999%. Then along comes Plexico.

Cell phones-TOO much money to be made to EVER enforce anything that will cause a consumer to stop using! Same as the do not call list --another phone joke that people actually believe. The PHONE companies RUN the US!

Fuck that shit. Because some folks cannot handle tossing a few back doesn't mean everyone should be forced to drive sober.
