ND was ranked ahead of Miami last ranking, they both did not play, suddenly Miami lept over them, WTF?
Notre Dame rigged the system so starting next year if they are in the ranked top twelve they get an auto-bid so maybe this is karma since no other school in the country could get that deal. Glad (and very surprised) they are out and since they are skipping their bowl game, we don't have to hear from them until next season when they again have the usual patsies on their bogus schedule (Rice, Navy, UNC, Purdue, BC, SMU, Syracuse, Stanford).
Well said Notre Dame played two good teams to start the season, and they lost both games. The rest of their schedule is a joke other than maybe half ass USC. If Notre Dame or Miami was in the SEC, they would be lucky to win more than 3 games above 500.Bama backed their ass in the playoffs based off their schedule. Bama is the most dangerous team in the field of 12. They beat Oklahoma by 4.
Just heard, because they feel they were screwed in the cfp. They are refusing to play in a bowl game. No month of practice. Middle finger to their seniors. It is curious that AP and coaches poll have 2 loss ND ahead of 3 loss bama. (i know, in theory you shouldn't be penalized for losing a championship game)
I still feel, and will always feel, the short bus teams deserve a playoff, among their peers. This isn;'t march madness, 16 isn't beating a 1 seed. I think this annoys me so much, because I hate inequity, scheduling a cupcake for homecoming. Little school gets payday, but they alsp often take a physical beating in a game they have no chance of winning.
Next year, looks like they go to 16 teams. So our argument continues. Why not their own tourney? Maybe because athletes are competitors, and if asked they'd scoff at not going to the adults table playoff.
Bottomline, no matter what the com did there'd be griping. Why? Because we are fans and thats what we do.

The obvious solution for ND would be to join a conference. Why have they resisted such an obvious answer. (Hint: The answer is always $$$). Mia gets 20 million for cfp participation, but has to split it with all the ACC teams. Last year, ND got to keep the whole 20 million. I know thats cynical, but why?

The ACC sold them out, pushed Miami, a pure blood ACC team. ND is furious, they might part ways with the ACC for the other couple dozen team sports they directly participate in the ACC.
I do not think the players would be "rewarded" by practicing for another month to play a bowl team that also will be missing a lot of opt outs and maybe coaches, too, when they genuinely, and credibly, believe they should be in the playoffs with a chance for The Championship. Ha, a few days in Florida under close supervision is not much of a reward, the media overdoes that narrative.
The NCAA with help from the woke media has screwed this all up, the playoffs and the other bowls, disgraceful. NO WAY Tulane and James Madison should be in the playoffs, it is like the DEI mentality, if Oregon and Ole Miss are in bad moods, they will beat these two teams by >30 pts.
