I do not blame ND for dropping out of the bowl season.
They probably have several key players that will opt to sit for the NFL, and others that will go to the transfer portal.
The ACC sold them out, pushed Miami, a pure blood ACC team. ND is furious, they might part ways with the ACC for the other couple dozen team sports they directly participate in the ACC.
I do not think the players would be "rewarded" by practicing for another month to play a bowl team that also will be missing a lot of opt outs and maybe coaches, too, when they genuinely, and credibly, believe they should be in the playoffs with a chance for The Championship. Ha, a few days in Florida under close supervision is not much of a reward, the media overdoes that narrative.
The NCAA with help from the woke media has screwed this all up, the playoffs and the other bowls, disgraceful. NO WAY Tulane and James Madison should be in the playoffs, it is like the DEI mentality, if Oregon and Ole Miss are in bad moods, they will beat these two teams by >30 pts.
RE: Notre Dame/Miami, Bama, BYU, Texas and Vandy there are logical arguments for all of them, and against.
No matter how many teams are in the playoffs there will cries of "foul".
Vegas power ratings are mostly better to rank them than the weak ass bureaucracy that currently holds the power.
