hawaii will definitely have the crowd on their side and they have been getting better throughout the season and almost beat cincy. the way to beat hawaii is to blitz alexander. the dude is good for a few fumbles if nd can get to him. im passing on this one.

thought this also, now ND may win, but its not the best play of the bowl season being a home game for hawaii who will play better than they are.....

ND still a play though! :103631605

hell no. ND will continue to be fade bait till they break the streak. I ride trends, never jump off em.

ND has always been cash cow for me during the bowl season and until they prove me wrong I ain't changing

I hear ya about the streak, but this is a pretty narrow minded approach to handicapping. ND has historically been in bowl games that they did not deserve to be in which contributed most to the long losing streak. For once they are matched up against a team where they have a decided talent edge. Even though going to the Hawaii bowl is typically a letdown, i guarantee you that the only thing those players are hearing about is the losing streak. I think ND's level of effort will be better than most experts expect here.

The motivational angle points heavily to Notre Dame. As bad as they are their talent is at least as good as Hawaii's but Charlie Weis is more or less coaching to cool down the hot seat he's on. A bowl loss would make next season very, very uncomfortable for him.

Hawaii always plays tough football at home. Subtract the first 5-6 games of their season because they were trying to find their QB. Alexander is far from great but good enough. He stands in the pocket like a 250lb bag of rice and has a slow release. But some how he gets his throws off. Could be that height thing. Decent under pressure. Stronger DEF that stats show. They lost to CIncy because of their offense not DEF. Home field advantage!

Notre Dame, I don't know what to say about them. Started off good but then went cold.
Is it true they haven't won a bowl game? HOw long?

I'm leaning Hawaii here in a very close game.

Keep in mind that Cincinnati had nothing to play for in the regular season finale. They had already locked up a BCS berth, so they did not bring their "A" game to Hawaii for sure. They also lost one of their best playmakers on offense early in the game which greatly aided Hawaii too.

Notre Dame on the other hand should bring their "A" game here. Weis is still under fire and they desperately need a bowl win of any kind. Given the motivation for ND, and the decided talent edge, Hawaii is in trouble here in all likelihood.

I agree with this. Usually Notre Dame is playing against a team they have no business playing against. Not this time.

I acually have ND -125 and -2 as a last leg in two different parlays, combined payout $1550 and change. I really think they get a W against Hawaii, but it kills me that I have to hedge some of this bet.

If Michael Floyd plays I like ND. When he got hurt the ND offense went to shit.

ND sucks in bowl games, but Weis has to win this game or I think his ass is gone.

It would be nice if he plays, but ND should be able to run the ball effectively in this game if he is unable to go. As poorly as Clausen has played of late, look for ND to run the ball almost every down and wear down Hawaii, much like they did against Navy earlier in the year.

He got upgraded to probable so he should play. He is their only reliable receiving threat.

Why is Norte Dame in a bowl game in the 1st place? 6-6 and they got beat by Syracuse.
Who's better, Syracuse or Hawaii?
ND was 1-4 on the road and now have to travel all the way to Hawaii = they don't win on the road often eh?
And they have to play on Xmas eve = god won't be happy about that fact. :pope:
If Weis is concerned about his job = they should have beat Syracuse as a 19 point favorite.

I'll take the 2 points.

ND matches up, man for man, better then Hawaii in this one

This is the proverbial "new beginning" for this team which is chock full of freshmen and sophmores and have no bearing on the last 9 bowl loses

I was raised in a ND house, but learned quickly as a bettor their a bad $$ team, always over-priced, in this bowl their not.... 1 - 2 points is a bargain

:pope: Gooooo IRISH !!!
