I'm trying to build a case for taking the home dog as this looks like somewhat of a sandwich spot for the Irish and everyone saw how they dismantled Texas on national TV last week. But now Virginia is having some depth issues on the O-line as they just lost two offensive linemen for the season:
Similar to Texas, Virginia has been hit hard with attrition recently along the offensive line, including season ending injuries to guard/tackles Jake Fieler and backup center Eric Tetlow. Ryan Doull, who started at guard last season, is also sidelined with an injury and not expected back for the Notre Dame game.
That doesn't bode well for an offense that last year finished 88th in yards per pass attempt (6.6) and 101st in yards per rush (3.7). Those numbers versus UCLA this weekend were 6.8 yards per the 35 pass attempts for quarterback Matt Johns, while the ground attack managed only 98 yards on 34 attempts (2.9 yards per carry). - See more at: https://notredame.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1800175#sthash.QrK4mZmu.dpuf

Any thoughts on this game?
