College Basketball way better. BCS sucks because people choose who gets to play in the national championship game...and it isn't always clear who should be in it. In CBB, you know the best team will be in the bracket and it's up to the teams to get to the championship. Way more exciting too.

You want to know what isnt fair telling half the teams in the nation at the beginning of their season right before 2 a days are to start that no matter what they do they can not possibily win their sports most elusive prize, the national championship.

Team like Utah can go undefeated but according to this messed up system they have zero percent chance to be crowned champions of their sport that they work just as hard at as any of the other teams but becuase of the flaws in the system that arent even allowed to play in the game to see what would happen. Never no matter what they arent ever going to be given a chance, no matter how welll they play during the season they cant be crowned champions.

Wake me up when the borefest, I mean bowlfest is about over. Cant wait for that big motor city bowl this year. That should be really fun or how about when the #5 team plays the #7 team in the nation to see who ends the season ranked higher, what a prize that is. Talk about a meaningless exhibition. YAWN!!!

Sports are supposed to crown champions, its the ultimate prize at the end of the journey. They do it at every level in every sport. That is why you play a season, to find out who the champion is at the end of it. It's pretty simple without it you have nothing but an empty feeling in your stomach from all the debate and unanswered questions.

Better yet you know what would suck, that would be having a bracket show on later in the year with all the poetential matchups and possibillites that would be endless. The hype would be horribile. I mean what college football fan would want that to happen. I dont even want to think about how exciting that would be, yuck.

Talk about ruining all the great exhibition games we have going right now. I would much rather watch another meaningless (fill in the blank with any bowl game) Rose Bowl matchup this season that means nothing, you know the same one we have watched the past 30 years, now those are a blast and I cant wait again this year for that.

I mean who in there right mind would want to see let's say a Oklahoma versus USC battle and the winner of that play the winner of Florida against Texas and then whom ever comes out of those games plays the bracket with Alabama. How about the cinderella stories of Utah and Boise St and how far they would go. Or we could really get a feel who the best conferences are if they played for all the marbles week in and week out. The 1st round matchup weekend would dwarf every sports weekends of the year. I think it would be just too much good football. It would be too hard deciding what games to watch and who needs all that, we all have enough problems throughout the week with work in all so no reason confusing all of us more. Lets keep it nice and simple and have basically nothing too get excitied about like the way it is now. That would make it a lot easier for all of us. Who needs all the headaches.

No forget it as those storyline's would suck. Talk about boring. Just the mere thought of all that seems like a big waste of time to me. Just too risky getting rid of this great current setup we have and all the great battles this bowl season will have coming up. Boy I can hardly wait again for this bowl season. Those big crowds they have at all those sites are just great, what an electric atmostphere those games have plus I mean you need to reward thos 7-5 teams on getting over the .500 hump and giving them that extra meaningless exhibition game that nobody cares about.

The thought of another CFB season wasted actually sickens me. This why this sport will ALWAYS play second fiddle to the NFL. Kind of sad as they could be #1 but they are just too stupid too realize what they could have.

Going to bed. Have to get up soon to be watch real football where 40% of the league still has a legit shot on winning the championship on the field at the end of the season. Best part is I dont know who that team is but I know when the season is over I wont have an empty feeling in my stomach or 2nd guess it either. The results will speak for themselves like they always do.

Can you imagine the NFL going towards a BCS system and how funny that would be. You vote (I cant even say this without laughing) on the 2 best teams to play one game and then you play a bunch of meaningless games between a bunch of above .500 teams to see who is the 3rd best team, etc around.

this isnt real football. this is predetermined outcomes by the league or the officials. it all sets itself up week in and week out. flat out rigged sport. hopefully wen i get my wagers in tomorrow i am on the right side of the fix.

I can't wait to see the epic battles of the Big 10 3rd place team vs the SEC 3rd place team in a 1/3 empty Jacksonville stadium. Ah, the drama.

If anyone wastes a dime going to any Big 10 bowl game outside of Penn St or Ohio St, then shame on them.

:think2:

That game will be in Orlando and be completely sold out......MSU-GEORGIA in all probability.

On top of that, the 4th place teams of these two conferences play in Tampa, and the game is routinely soldout........sometimes within minutes of the official announcement of who is playing. In fact, the last two times Iowa has played in Tampa, they have sent 30,000+ fans just by themselves. Having gone to both of these games, I can tell you firsthand that both of these games were tough tickets and a scalpers dream.

If the BCS gives the National title to a team that has one loss over a team that is undefeated; the system is a farce. At least IF (BIG IF) a undefeated team gets it ; the BCS people can at least argue the smaller school could not beat "their" champ.

Nothing would be more exciting than an 8 team playoff at the end of the season with the winners of each conference's championship game.

I'd love to see a private entity step up and offer more money than the bowls.

Each team gets about $15 Million for being in a BCS bowl.

What if someone like Mark Cuban or the like offered each team $15 Million per game to play in an 8 team playoff? What would they choose?

This is the best you got after hearing one of your smarter Posters like iceman explain it to you very clearly. "That some of these Bowl games are sold out. That a particualr bowl game is a scalpers dream. " Thats not a valid argument on why this system is good, neither is a undefeated team playing in a meaningless exhibition game.

I'll bet 20 bowl games don't sell out. And this is still a meaningless exercise in futuility.

Only Big 10 fans like the current system. Probably because about once a decade do they have a team worthy enough to play in the championship.

Maybe the government can do it to stimulate the economy.

Actually we would have this suspense each week without the BCS system...What the BCS system really does is take the suspense out of the major bowl games, and makes only the BCS championshp game worth watching.
