North Texas seems to be starting the year the same way they did last year with one big difference.

Last year they got whipped 65-0 in Texas, lost to FAU at home, 52-21 at Colorado and 14-37 at Baylor. Then they ran the table in the Sunbelt.

This year they have given up 108 points in two games while only scoring 9. The big diff is they have already beaten the preseason pick for the Sunbelt, Middle Tenn on the road. The fact that they were outplayed in the game and still won is a big positive not a negative.

This year they have returned the second fewest starters in the sunbelt. Guess who has the fewest? Begins with a T.

Troy hasn't been close in three out of its four first games. Its lone win came against Cal Poly.

North Texas OL vs Troy DL is no contest. This will be by far the weakest defensive front North Texas has had to face. North Texas could exceed their offensive output the last two games combined. They could exceed their season high total of 14.

I don't think Troy can keep up. They simply lost too much on both of their lines to duplicate last years success.

I understand there are some very competent handicappers on Troy tonight. It is hard to take a position against those guys. I think it is a mistake to put too much into North Texas non conf schedule. I will take my chances with the team that has proven it can get clobbered out of conference and still dominate the Sunbelt.

I totally agree. Just can't keep myself off it. I am prepared to eat it.

I applaud your support of N. Texas. Very valiant, the history , the conference winning streak, etc. etc. etc. Tulsa is not Texas, 54-2 at home!!! How do you account for the stat edges held by Troy? Troy played S.C. close until their turnovers started, on the road. I know, turnovers are a big part of the game. Troy knows this also and I am sure they will improve in this area. The only thing that bothers me is Troy's 17 days of the road (3 games) Good luck all of you Green Meanies, Troy is the better ballclub, but better clubs lose everyday. That being said, Troy by 4-7 points.

FAU is not Texas either, they beat NTSU in Texas last year. Didn't matter, NTSU ran the table.

Troy did not play SC close.

As for the Turnovers, NTSU has had a positive turnover number for six straight years. It might be longer than that but I dont have the stats. That is not an accident or good fortune that is a philosophy.

Troy may be the better team but how do you account for the fact that there is good reason to believe that NTSU is going to continue their domination of the Sunbelt and that reason is a victory over Middle Tennessee State who was very highly thought of preseason.

I know the people on Troy are sharp and I am prepared to be wrong. But this is the way I see it so I will either be validated or get an education.

Tampa Luke, your reply is appreciated. You are indeed a gentleman, and the best gamblers always are that! I don't do a lot of posting, and everybody(majority) is talking about history, conf. streak, trends, domination in the conference, I had to reply. I still think Troy"s victory was against a stronger opponent than N.T.'s,preseason hype included. We shall agree to disagree. Good luck in your future picks. Atlslim

I will have to disagree with you on the Cal Poly vs MTSU comparison. Good Luck to you also.
