Aloha all,
Well tonights a big night as I will be playing Hawaii and it will be my first 5 unit play for the season. Now I know about all the stats, trends, past reports, last weeks performances, but tonight I'm banking on different information, I think priveleged to us here on this beautiful rock of ours that I want to pass on to the not so informed as my way of saying Aloha.
First off lets take that dreadful Hangover issue that we all know is a major factor in sports betting. This was a big upset for the UNLV program, so much that John Robinson called the biggest or at least one of the biggest wins in schools history. They also feel that UNLV has turned the corner as far as their football program is concerned. PLease, I think you should at least win your conference in consecutive or at least twice in three years to be considering turning the corner, but hey thats just me.
Next, if you'll worrying about the Warriors being totally devastated by their lost to USC, then don't be. All attitudes about that game are in good and positive spirits. Yes, they are alittle disappointed as any big underdog should be, but their are just to many positives to take from that game for the upstart Warriors.
Next, for those of you worried about all the traveling these Warriors had to do just to get to this game, well not to worry cause they did not leave the mainland yet. They stayed in Ontario, Calif. where they practiced and recouperated for this game.
Next, the Warriors will be getting two of their top defensive lineman back for this game. Top Pro prospect DE Travis Laboy , and DT and leader of the defensive line before injury last year ended season, Lui Fuga, will be making the trip up to Las Wages, oh excuse me, Las Vegas. They will definately bring alot of motivation and enthusiasm, not to mention talent and leadership to the defense.
Lastly, and one which I will be considering a big factor is the lack of home field advantage by the UNLV squad on their own home field. What many people aren't aware of is the fact that Las Vegas is considered to be a second home for us Hawaiians. In fact we have roughly over 300,000 transplanted locals who moved up there. Secondly, when we get a needed vacation from our plantation jobs, or we need a break from surfing all day, where do you think we head to? Thats right, LAS VEGAS. In fact so many Hawaiians travel their year round and spend so much money that the State of Hawaii is trying to pass legalized gambling here just to keep this local revenue from leaving our shores. Anyways, tonight it is expected that there will be about 30,000 fans in the stands tonight. Well you can bank on at least half of them being Warrior fans, both consisting of vacationers to residents. We know that this is a special Warrior team we have, especially with local talent and Heisman hopeful Timmy Chang at the controls, and not to mention Coach June Jones who we all adore. Tonight I can guarantee you that when you watch the game on TV, you gonna see an overwhelming amount of Ti leaves being waved in the air. (Ti Leaves chases away bad spirits and brings good luck). So home field not an issue here, and thats all I need to feel comfortable with laying the wood with the Warriors.
Aloha to all and GL Wherever you heart and head tells you to follow. Lets all have fun and enjoy life, cause only got one shot at it. Co-Captain.
