ITF finds no THG

London, England (Sports Network) - The International Tennis Federation announced on Monday that all rescreened drug tests from the U.S. Open and Davis Cup came back negative for the steroid THG.

The ITF decided last month to recheck samples for the newly-discovered drug, as samples from both in-competition and out-of-competition were screened.

Tetrahydrogestrinone (THG) was detected this past summer when a track and field coach sent a syringe with the substance to the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency. Five track athletes and four NFL players tested positive for the drug.

Tennis does not screw around like baseball where the league practically encourages cheating. Roddick was tested more than a dozen times in 6 months. If someone fails they are off the tour for a minumum 2 years. (In baseball they're given an informational pamphlet. Second violation they are given an 800 number to call to listen to a recorded message.) Cheating is easy to stop, and tennis stopped it, and the NFL is making progress. In baseball they will get serious about it when someone has a 100 HR season. I feel sorry for the baseball players who don't cheat - cheating is allowed in baseball, and the compensation's not bad either.

good post sampl497,

Bret Boone would weigh 147 off of roids, his ankles are the size of a 12 yr old girl, take a look at Brent Maynes cheeks, and he still cant hit it 300 feet. MLB is a total fraud.

Bidboydan,if it quacks it might be a duck. I still canot believe that some people think that mlb, track and field among othe r sports are not guilty. This goes all the way back to Flo Jo and her world records. There is always masking agents and these people are always one step ahead of the people giving the tests.Aperson would have to be blind or at the very least allfully gullible. areef,

Pat Etcheberry is Henin strength and conditioning coach, and has been caught in the past with drugs. Serena Williams is very guilty of drug abuse that performace enhances.
