Nick Saban Retires

I said it over a week before the bowl Playoffs I heard rumors he was retiring from a couple friends who played at Bama, and was called a fool. Who knows who they hire next or interview but I was just passing on what I heard from the great Barry Krause (Goal line stand, MVP of 79 Sugar Bowl), and a few others close to the program.

So far they are 50% right on about what they said, the future coach may be different than rumored, we shall see who is up next but turns out the rumors were true within the program, which is why he wanted so badly to win this year but knew it may be his last chance for a while.

Definitely the greatest College football coach of our lifetime. End of an era.

Nope, and he held out the longest he could. his wife had been on him to retire for years to the lake house and relax. his daughter had been pressuring him too so he could be with the grandkids more. He is a legend....sad to see him go but wish him the best in retirement.

Nope, and he held out the longest he could. his wife had been on him to retire for years to the lake house and relax. his daughter had been pressuring him too so he could be with the grandkids more. He is a legend....sad to see him go but wish him the best in retirement.

He bought a house on Jupiter Island last spring. I knew he was going soon because that house is not a "second home"....its a retirement house.

I think you need to reread your own thread. NO ONE called you a fool anywhere in that thread for saying Saban to retire. What they did call you out for is saying you had an "inside source" that Dabo was the next coach. Just to be transparent.

I stand corrected and am probably wrong like most others who thought or heard there was mutual interest at least at one Point. Don’t act like you’ve never been wrong before either .
Apparently I wasn’t the only one who heard Dabo might go there one day

But as I said my sources were right and spot on about saban retiring which most would have doubted before even most sportswriters like Paul finebaum and Stephen a smith were stunned esp after they saw saban partying in the box

Expect a coach to be named in the next 72 hours. Reason why it came as a surprise to many is because again the back room wheeling and dealing had taken place and today the future coach agreed to come. Saban signed off on it. Thus the wheels started to spin.

72 hours needed so Saban can be properly honored and the new coach tying up all loose ends at previous school.

I’ll again say, the people with connections at Alabama aren’t people. It’s one person and now it looks to be two as Saban will be an influencer going forward.

Dabo was never ever even in the tiniest bit in the conversation. If media or Joe blow down the street mentions it then they are just spouting off at the mouth. There is a reason why I gave 10 and 25 to 1 and would go even higher. No one with real connections to Alabama would ever mention Dabo was a possibility. Period. He’s not as well thought of as some here claim to believe

Yes we get that point, you said it a million time. Yes, my connections were correct about Saban retiring which is why i said he would retire., maybe not about Dabo. The main point of it wasn't even about the next coach, it was that he was retiring which is big news and it happened shocked the world. (Also that's partly why i backed Bama against MIchigan, as i said in my post). They were spot on about that. Now move on and lets see who is the new ball coach.

Again. The only thing you argued with me about was Dabo and how your connections knew that Dabo was very likely to be the next coach. When offered 10-20 to 1 that he wouldn’t be. You went on a tirade about how your connections knew this or that.

End of day. There is one real connection at Alabama. And no real connection at Alabama would ever remotely say Dabo…. Ever
