NFL is a fixed puppet show and everyone eats it up

He definitely spanked that on purpose. His first kick went through the uprights and split the middle. Time out and he forgot how to kick, Yea right.

3 turnovers and they couldn't beat a rookie.

Hahaha hahaha, reading these threads are a joke. The first kick did not split the middle, it almost hit the right upright, he over adjusted and shanked it. A guy missing a 50 yard field goal is not rigging the game. you guys who think he missed on purpose need to quit gambling now. guys who miss open receivers, fumble the ball, drop passes and miss kicks on purpose must take some great acting/drama classes cause they sure are great actors too

Absolutely. They wouldnt have covered the spread anyway if he made it. Who would know if he missed it on purpose besides him? If you believe a kicker has never missed on purpose, you should stop gambling.

I would never say this has NEVER happened, but if you think it is common you should also consider. Have you ever tried to kick a
50yrd field goal, on the road, with the game on the line, windy, in front of millions of ppl?

You make it seem like it was a layup playing on his drive way against his little brother.

Did you happen to ever compete in any athletics at a college level by chance?

To me it looked like the pressure coming in from the right side of the line probably distracted him.

Gano on missed kick: I thought I was going to drill it.

Carolina's best chance to exorcise their Super Bowl demons rested on the shoulders of kicker Graham Gano from 50 yards as time expired. And to hear him tell it, the miss wide left had nothing to do with the timeout Broncos coach Gary Kubiak called right before he booted -- and made -- his first attempt. Like many good kickers, he simply blamed himself.
"I thought I was going to drill it," Gano told reporters after the 21-20 Broncos victory Thursday night. "There was no doubt in my mind. This happens. This won't define my season. I've got a lot of games left. I had a lot of teammates come up to me and say that I'm going to help us win a lot of games and I believe them. I wish I could have it back, but the reality is I can't. I've just got to move on and make the next kick."

He added: "There's nothing I can do about it. I feel bad I let my team down. We worked really hard tonight to get the win. I wish I could have it back, but I've got to move on."
Gano was previously 14 of 24 on kicks on 50 yards or more, so the distance was by no means a lock for the Panthers heading into the final seconds.
His postgame interview was handled with poise and didn't take away from the heart-pumping game that had just taken place. The Panthers, by now, know just how hard it is to beat this Denver team even with a green seventh-round pick installed at quarterback. If they ever get another crack, Gano sounds like he'll be ready.

Thinking this was done on purpose is kind of ridiculous, just as blaming that one kick on the loss. The Panthers scored 3pts in the second half, turned it over in the opponents red zone and were only in the game due to red zone turnovers by the Broncos and a bonehead penalty on 4th and 20.

Sure 50 yarders are not a lock. In high altitude thin air negligible wind it's equivalent to about a 42-43 yarder though. Live odds for Panthers ML before the kick was around -200. It wasn't an epic choke, but it was a choke

He took the practice kick and it hit the upright and went in. Collinsworth said it perfect, Gano tried to compensate a bit to the left after that. If they have a chance to make it....it means they have a chance to miss it too. Gano will be one of the best kickers of this season.
