Play: Lightning -1.5 (Puck Line)

Tampa Bay looks like a strong puck-line spot here. The Wings come into this game short-handed offensively with captain Dylan Larkin sidelined, which is a major loss for their top line and power-play production. Without their main playmaker, Detroit’s offense becomes far less dangerous and much easier to contain.

Meanwhile the Lightning still have one of the most explosive top-six forward groups in the league with Nikita Kucherov, Brayden Point, and Steven Stamkos driving the attack. Tampa’s power play can punish teams quickly, and Detroit’s penalty kill has been inconsistent against elite offenses.

This game is also in Tampa at Amalie Arena, where the Lightning tend to play aggressive and generate a lot of scoring chances. If Tampa jumps ahead early, Detroit will have to open up offensively, which could easily lead to a two-goal margin or a late empty-netter.

Detroit’s depth is questionable tonight, while Tampa has the scoring ability to pull away.
