Hockey has been brutally difficult this year wagering with a contemporary approach. All you need for proof is to look at the BetJam post-up results over at the hockey forum. Time to adjust my style and take what the game is offering today. There has been one constant this year. Close games. There are two profitable methods at taking advantage of this.
One is bet games to go to OT. Overtimes have been running at better than 25% in the NHL this year and with the average payout higher than +300, has +EV. I had a thread running regarding this on the hockey forum earlier in the year but quit. My bad, because it clearly has been a money making proposition all year long and I didn't have the commitment to see it through. I'm sure it will continue and I'll include some OT wagers on this tracker thread.
However the bulk of my plays here, (and the purpose of this thread), is to take teams on the puck line, (+1.5 goals), and parlay them together. There will be times when I'll take the favorite getting the +1.5 so having a shop with alternate puck lines is essential. I'll use WA lines for the purpose of this thread but personally I suggest using lines from Matchbook, (or any other reduced venue), as often as possible, parlay them up to games the following day, in order to maximize your profits.
Excluding the OT wagers, there will be times when you see one play being posted but with the intention of matching it up to another game(s) the following day(s).
All parlays will be risking one unit.
