First hockey bet here all season and I'll play the numbers. From NHL.com

"A total of 115 series have gone to seven games since the League introduced the best-of-seven format in 1939. The home team has won 72 (63%), the visiting team 43 (37%)."

Currently you have to lay -154 if you like TB. Laying 154 means you have to win 60.62 of your wagers to win money. Since the home team wins at 63% of the time, laying -154 is cheap. You have to lay 171 to win at 63%. 17 cents in value.

Occam - here's a contradictory trend - 'Calgary will try to avoid becoming the second team in 33 years to squander a three games to two lead. In 2001, the Devils dropped the final two games against the Colorado Avalanche.'

If you find a trend to support your pick, somebody else can generally find a stronger trend (or two) in favor of the other team. Past trends have very little bearing on one individual game.

And you can't ignore - the Flames have 10 road wins in this postseason, tying the NHL record.

I'm just trying to point out some alternative thinking. Good luck tonite. If you win you'll be 100% in your hockey picks this year.

You have also overlooked the fact that Tampa hasn't won two games in a row in a month and a half or the fact that the flames are 8-1 in games following a loss, while only allowing 11 goals in those 9 games.

All stats can be thrown out the window at this point. It's game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals. Anything can happen.

The flames will win this game and there isn't a doubt in my mind. Iginla will also win the Conn Smythe. I'll see you after the game!

Home ice is no advantage in this series. Tampa's lost twice at home in the series already, and Calgary is 10 - 3 away in this series.

Congrats to those on Tampa Bay. An event with a 63% probability of hitting, (Home team in the 7th game) comes in and cheap at that, went all the way down to -145.
