redskins +3 ev
1. these teams played two close games last yr and split. philly was better then and wash was worse
2. cousins played horribly against the giants because of a short week and him being a young qb he needs all the preparation he can get. yes, he's not good but he's capable of making some plays. bradford is still capt checkdown just like he was at stl.
3. possible hurricane rains this weekend favor redskins run game.
4. redskins tough at home for whatever reason
5. philly beat the jets last week but looked horrible in doing so. false hope for philly fans

thanks for the well wishes

next pick is:
giants +5.5
1. i'm told the bills have a great d, and then i look at the numbers and they have the 28th ranked defense. i understand the patriots have alot to do with that ranking, but i think how good their d is is based alot on last yrs defense and rex ryan's rep.
2. bills have beat up on 2 pretty bad teams. we don't really know how good they actually are. the giants have lost to the tony romo cowboys and atl. two losses that shoulda coulda woulda been wins.
3. qb comparison eli>tyrod
4. coach comparison coughlin>ryan
5. maybe the bills win this game. i don't think they do, but if they do it certainly won't be more than 1 score.

lions +10
1. seattle laying way too many points here and this is based on last years reputation.
2. seattle may win but i think its a relatively low scoring game and as such, 10 points is alot to lay. lions have the talent to put up 17 points in this game and if they do i think its more than enough to cover 10 pt spread.
3. golden tate returns to seattle for revenge

saints -3
1. saints will not go 0-16 so this is a perfect spot for them to get a win against a team missing its two best players in primetime at home.
2. sean payton used to coach for the cowboys so maybe there's a little extra preparation or tricks in store against his old team.
3. brees is back, and weeden is in his second game as a starter. backups usually play well in their 1st game and then after that the reasons they arent a starter somewhere in the league rear their ugly head. (mccown's run for chi 2 years ago being the exception)

on a side note: calvin johnson is the tracy mcgrady of the nfl. i have never seen him make a play that mattered, and i have seen him make more than a few blunders. wanted to make that comment now after a winning bet on the lions so people won't accuse me of sour grapes.

thanks nbvikes and bobby. the other thing that is really grinding my gears this morning is that all the pundits are talking about how the refs missed the batting out of the endzone call. no one is blasting johnson for not securing the ball. the ball was going to be going out of the endzone anyway, there was no lion in the area that could have possibly recovered the fumble. if the ref makes that call its like a chp or state trooper giving you a ticket for going 66 mph in a 65 mph zone. it would have been stupid call. we don't want to go down that route of calling every little penalty when it has no bearing on the outcome of the play.

((steps down off soap box))

p.s. i would have loved for the lions to win that game and knock 7 more people out of my survivor pool but don't blame refs for that , its on cal johnson.
