Anybody here in a survivor/elimination pool this season? I'd love to exchange picks and strategies. I survived week 1 by picking the Jets. I can buy in again 1 time in my league which has about 60 people in it. Maybe this is the wrong forum, but I can't seem to find one for this. Anybody playing? (Moderators feel free to move this if necessary)

I'm in one with two entries in it, has 189 entries and you can buy back in only after a week 1 loss. I went jets and Tampa bay. Thinking of going Washington and Tampa bay....

Cool cool. I'm technically in 2 leagues also (I also entered my Dad and we agreed to split if either of us happen to win it all). We can buy in again ONE TIME at any point of the season.
Week one picks: Jets and Texans (so I'm still alive in both leagues)
Tampa Bay doesn't sound like a bad choice for week 2. I have to submit my picks by Saturday @ 10pm CST. Tampa Bay is kinda tempting. I'm trying to look at teams that are BAD and "could" start 0-6, or something like that so I can fade them...Anyway, these things are fun but they do get tricky. Let's keep this thread going!

I am in two. 1 allows a rebuy only if you lose in week one. So I took the Jets there, since they have absolutely no value for use in the future. Then I manned up and also took them in the league that is one and done. So I'm happy.

Suggest checking out survivorgrid.com. You can map out the entire season ---- and try to forecast when you are going to use each different team, it will help you not get caught without a good choice.

For example, it looks like Week 5 is going to be tricky, no double digit favorites, best choices are likely going to be Denver over Arizona or San Diego over the Jets. So I don't want to burn either of those teams before then. We do see GB may be a large favorite over Minnesota but I'm a little worried about that one. I may use GB this week.

At any rate, I think it's a good tool to try and map things out with it.

I'm still thinking about a very risky Oakland pick this weekend..since I get 1 re-buy..but I'm gonna wait until the last second to pull the trigger.

Personally I like GB this week. I don't think the putsy NYJ offense will be able to keep up with Rodgers.

in one as well...a biggie. 520 entries at $100 per entry. Went with Philly in wk 1 and sweated it out! Leaning towards GB, Tampa, or New Orleans

6k entries? How does a pool like that not end with 100 people still alive at the end of the season. Chop city.

Don't mention Chicago week 1....face)(*^%:puppy:

Cost me a bundle to get back in the 5 I had Chicago in since a rebuy allowed week 1 or 2 only. Did okay in the others so really starting again. I'm most likely going GB myself....BOL

I'm leaning Green Bay this week. This is probably the easiest home game on their schedule -- the others are Min, Car, Chi, Phi, NE, Atl and Det. Denver still has home games against Miami, Buffalo and Oakland, so I'll hope to use them in one of those.

I personally am staying far, far away from New Orleans this week.

There's only 58 people in my league(s) with 1 re-buy. I'm playing my Dad's spot for him as well. Week 1: Me: Jets, Dad: Houston...25 people eliminated in week 1 !! BUT I'm assuming they all re-buy. So, who do you guys have? Should I use a Green Bay home game this early? or Do something like Tamba Bay..I never know what kind of strategy to use here! Any suggestions? I have to submit by Saturday 10pm CST. We do get that 1 re-buy :)

I found out every time you try to save a team it comes back to bite you in the ass. Philly was the play last week, but I took bears and now im out. Take the best team available and then move on

I'm still alive in my 58 man league (you get 1 re-buy). Any thoughts or strategies here? I'm thinking about finally picking my 1st heavy favorite and taking New England this weekend (14 point favorites over Oakland). If you look at New England's schedule it starts to get pretty damn though. Should I save them? Anybody think the Pats could lose a Monday night game @ Kansas City in week 4? I'd like to save New England but this thing is about "surviving" :)

Week 1: Jets
Week 2: Redskins
Week 3: ???

Saints are probably good this week also since we are at home. Starting 0-2, first home game the Dome will be loud trying to get our first win. As inconsistent as Saints will be this year, or at least look that way, I think this is the best time to use them.

You bet it is. Better go out picking the best play on the board then trying to save for later. New England or New Orleans are the best plays
