System 1 refers to any two teams that faced each other the previous year in the playoffs.

After just a cursory glance I spotted one in the 4th week of preseason when New England travels to the New York Giants. Granted the majority of the 19-3 ATS record were teams geting their revenge at home.

But who knows, it's three weeks away, and with the NY Giants 4-15 ATS vs. the AFC East right now in PS and playing their cross-town rivals the NY Jets from the same Eastern division the week before, it can't hurt the scenario.

Green Valley...since I know you, I won't be too harsh...but statitics can be twisted any which way...and ATS also can be twisted, especially when the line moves a few points which can make a difference between winning and losing...I know you guys do your homework and delve deep into stats, but I think I can select a game and come up with favorable comments at any time...best of luck this football season buddy..

You my friend are absolutely right. In my defense, let me give a simple example of why a person should keep their own records and do their own homework.

I visit some very good sights for gathering day-to-day information on games i'm interested in and you wouldn't beleive the discrepencies I find.

This is in no way a slam against Statfox. They have an excellent product.....and her's the but. They generally use closing lines for the their record keeping. For example an NBA game total last year opened like 190.5 and 191 across the board respectively. I played the over based one my opinions and the background of the teams at that sight.
By the end of the day the public ran the total up to 194.5 and a few 195's. The game fell 194. Over 90% of the people involved with the over cashed their tickets leaving 10% who were lucky enough to play the under at the higher numbers winning their bet as well.
Although 90% of the bettors won their bet playing on the OVER, because Statfox using closing number, the next time you check the history of either team in their next contest it said the previous game for both team was under the 195.

I have nothing for MLB playoffs, just very few things that are wothry to bet on. I have yet to find a significant format for betting any of the series. For most people it's a matter of the team they like at price they can live with. And so many I know are just game to game players.

I will be posting however, some very interesting series trends for the WNBA playoffs when they arrive.

I only have a few systems in place for regular season NFL. It's what I like to pay attention to. With NFL and College football, Veijo Dinosoar said it best. "You can virtually find any system or trend to support a play on both sides of so many of the contests." I'll post what I have.

I do have some damn good stuff to post for teams before and after a bye week that I'm sure you can sink your teeth into.

Some nice things were said recently on this thread and I felt I had to elaborate. I can see where some folks just don't get it. I tend to read a lot of other posts because they are meant to be informative. The minute the thread starts to read of "sarcasm" instead of "systems"....."trash" instead of "trends"....."shot taking" instead of "slections" - - - - that's where you lose me. When I see other posts, here or elsewhere, and the explitives flying it upsets me. Must be the 60's hippie in me coming out. Peace, Love and all that.

I have neither the time nor the inclination to contribute to, nor read, any such thread. I have a very small ego, I'm a better than average bettor, I am not selfish (I share what I have), I love to bet sports, I work a job as welI you all know, I can accept the constructive criticism that I get, because it all comes down to the reason I post here to begin with......to be informative.

The systems, trends and any comments I make here are to serve but one purpose only. To help other just like myself who love to bet. If you read my prior posts, you'll have a tuff time finding anything of a counter-productive nature. It calls for a bet against Washington as they are at home, scored over 30 points in their win and gave up over 10 points.

I decided to make the system a little clearer by definition. Thanks for pointing out that it is a little ambiguous. It will now read.

Bet AGAINST any Home team off a win in which they scored 30+ points and allowed their opponent over 10+ points.

Last year ther was only one game that qualified as the NJ Jets beat Atlanta by a score of 31-16, the next week they were at home to Minnesota and got beat 37-20 as a -4 point favorite.

I have checked prior to this each year for weeks 2, 3, and 4 and have found absolutely no significant results that would translate into a system or trend. I can't explain why it has only applied to week one, but I'm just guessing that if a team opens up with a good offensive performance, perhaps they get a little over-inflated opinion of themselves just a tad early, and the next week reality sets in and their opponent wants to beat the high-flying team. Just a guess.

Washington scoring 30 qualify.

I could be wrong in my thinking here so help me out. On other forums or capping sites, if I see any number as "something+" I interpret it as that number or more. EG: if a team qualifies by scoring 14+, I think they mean that if they scored 14 or more they have qualified. In other words they have to acheive the number shown at least. Am I on the right track here, or have I been reading this stuff wrong?

Quite frankly it has only been the last several years that I have been paying attention as to the duration of the the system. I never had call to list the years in the past. It was primarily just for my own information.

With so much interest in the last few years on the time element, because of the ever-changing teams, I have been logging it in when I know for sure.

I'm pretty sure systems 1 and 2 span over 10 years, system 6 goes back about 8 years, etc., but these are off the top of my head.

When I see a trend or system posted and it catches my eye I almost always start to investigate and go back as far as I can for discrepencies. None found, I now watch its future performace for a short time, and if it continues to produce I label it, and use it for guideance.

I have seen trends posted that are 15-0 ats over the last 3Y and sure enough, I figure it in my capping and maybe make a play. Damn, if the SOB doesn't lose and there I am........"I never attended any of the weddings, but got there in time for the funeral."
