Last week, I explained the rationale of betting the best QB in each game. Now we move on to the Divisional Rounds. I would emphasize the QB, QB experience and Head Coaching in this round.

With 8 teams left and a very slim margin for error coaching and play-off coaching (See Marvin Lewis) comes into play.

Tom Brady and Big Bill vs. Alex Smith and Andy Reid - I gotta think that Bellichek will have such an effective scheme to shut down this terrible KC offense that the Pats holds this team under 17. Can Brady score 21+ on KC? That is a great question.....let's wait and see on my pick later this week.

Russell Wilson and Carroll vs. Cam and Riveria - Wow the experience factor is big here. The skill level might be a tie but I think Carroll and his experience could pay dividends. Home field advantage and a week+ to rest and prepare is nice.....let's see who the legend goes with on this one (I have a hunch)

Rodgers and Mccarthy vs Palmer and Arians - Slight edge with the Packers but I like both sides. 7 points sure does seem like a lot. I gotta crunch the numbers on this one....

PITT vs DENVER - If Big Ben is out and you can look in Denver under 7, do it quickly, this number will be growing.

I'll have my picks out by Wednesday! Do your homework and maybe you can go 3-1-1 like the Money Man $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

If that is the only thing your emphasis is based on then why not unload on N.E to win the SB.
i mean who has a better QB? More experience ? Better head coach?

You forget to mention they have lost 4 of their 6 games

Here we go gentlemen:

Seattle + 3 -120 - Absolutely loves this play. I think Cam and Riveria are a year away!
Green Bay + 7 - Zona is going to win but Rodgers and McCarthy will keep it close. Zone wins by 3 to 4 points.
K.C. +5 - Patriots are able to pull out the win but only by a field goal....take the points!

I'm going to wait and see on the health of Big Ben!

Not trying to stir the pot here, but legitimate question. Your thread title says "You should betting on the quarterback". If that is correct, how are you not taking Brady and Bilicheck over Alex smith? I agree with you on rogers and wilson. Anyway, curious to know how you ended up going with Alex smith which seems contrary to your original analysis and view point? thanks for any insight and best of luck this weekend!

I don't think all the dogs won last week did they? Minny +4.5 covered but lost to seattle. Bengals +2 at kick off pushed but lost to pitt. greenbay did win straight up as +1 dog (although alot of shops had it a pk 1 hour before game time). cheifs were -3.5 favorites and rolled houston.

It is harder to choose which teams have the best QB this week.

Brady is better than Smith
Wilson vs Newton is totally debatable. Wilson has the playoff experience but Newton is the NFL's best player this season. PK
Palmer vs Rodgers: Rodgers is a HOF talent, but Palmer is in the top 3 voting for MVP (with Cam and Brady) so this year Palmer is better.
Big Ben vs Manning: Historically Manning, but he sucks this year. Big Ben is hurt though -- this one if OFF the Board.

So I think you can only reasonably choose the best QB in the NE game unless we hear more about Big Ben's health (then I would choose pitt).

Oh boy, I tend to like the chalk this week. Already "swallowed the points' (as Colin Cowherd always says) with Carr and NE and am very close to pulling the trigger on ARI, but I wonder if I should wait until I can see half-time lines and team totals and then make a bet. I would say one of us will be happy and the other pissed this weekend, but more likely we will both go 2-2 and the books will just win!

All dogs won last week.....what planet do you live on?

K.C. - 3
Green Bay at different points of the week were favorited -1

WOW! You can't even get the scores from last week right......How are you going to give advice on this weeks game?

Someone has probably already pointed this out, but there is a #1 overall pick at QB in each game this weekend. I actually think all 4 win but not for that reason. If that happens, I wonder if there is a precedent for having all #1 picks at QB in the conference championships (Newton, Smith, Manning, and Palmer).

QBs are nice but rest should not be overlooked, not to mention not having to travel for 2...3...4 weeks in a row

I'm adding my Denver Play:

Denver - 7.5

So to recap:

Denver - 7.5
Seattle + 3 (Now + 2 or +1.5) I still like it.
KC +5 or 4.5
Green Bay + 7 or 7.5

If I had to play one teaser it would be:

Denver -1 and K.C. + 11

Have a great weekend!
