Once all the NFL betting lines futures are in, the division winners and Super Bowl champion are predicted, and the popcorn is ready, it is time to get ready for week one of the regular season. Fans have been through it all this offseason after the lockout limited free agency and preseason preparations, but now that the dust has settled it is time to play the games that matter. Here is a quick look at some key matchups from week one.

Big things are expected of both the Bears and the Falcons this season, but only one will be able to meet those expectations week one as they clash in the windy city. There remains unrest in Chicago after franchise quarterback Jay Cutler failed to make it through the NFC Championship game and help get the team into the Super Bowl, but the coaching staff and players are behind him and the Bears are committed to making another pay per head run. The problem is that Chicago didn’t do much to improve this past offseason beyond the late addition of Brandon Meriweather, and that might not bode well for a roster that already wasn’t the best team in it division. The Falcons meanwhile added first round pick Julio Jones at wide receiver and return the majority of a roster that won 14 games a year ago, suggesting that even though their record may not be as good they might actually be a better NFL betting services team overall.

Pittsburgh Steelers @ Baltimore Ravens (-2.5)

One of the most intense rivalries in the game hasn’t been that hard to predict over the years, with the Steelers dominating the Ravens in games that Ben Roethlisberger has been able to make it for. Roethlisberger will be under center again for Pittsburgh this weekend after a full preseason of work, and that means that Baltimore could be in trouble. The Ravens continue to bank on Joe Flacco’s development as their franchise quarterback, but so far he hasn’t been able to deliver even with a ton of weapons around him. This will be his next sports betting services test.

NFL Betting Pick: Pittsburgh Steelers + 2.5

Detroit Lions @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-1.5)

The Buccaneers won’t have to go fishing for ideas of how to slow the Lions’ offense down, as quarterback Matt Stafford remains the key to making things go. Stafford has a history of injuries and could be affected if Tampa Bay can generate pressure up the middle, but there will be a big reliance on the front four as the secondary deals with a talented receiving core. Buccaneers’ quarterback Josh Freeman has the mobility to move around in the pocket, and he will need to stay on his toes to keep away from the rush of Ndamakung Suh and a talented Lions’ defensive line. Detroit has improved, but Tampa Bay is an underrated sports betting team that is playing at home.
