Been lurking this site for some time..thought i would get involved and see if i can offer anything.

User name states it all..been in Vegas off and on since 1950..presently have been here last 20 years..love this town

Forte is NFL and So Cal horse racing circuit..been a gambler all my life..started in my grandfather's saloon located in Haverhill Mass where i learned to play pool when i was 13. Family moved to upstate NY (Auburn) where i honed my gambling skills...left to go to LA via Vegas when i was 19. Got kicked out of Nugget for being underaged..NY did not care how old you were..quite a shock.

Finally made it to LA..did 4 years in Korea conflick..made it out in 1 piece..attended school on GI Bill..graduated and worked in Aerospace Industry with many trips to Vegas..got lucky enough to retire when i was 53 and have resided in Vegas for the last 20 years.

That about sums it up and will contribute best i can

I too have been around the sports wagering block a few times...actually about 27 years. I grew up in Lincoln, NE which was a great sports town with lotsa wagering going on, but alas, I visited the Pacific NW in the early 80's and the outdoor lover in me said enough of the Midwest, so I've lived in Seattle for the last 20 years.

Seattle, unlike Lincoln, is NOT a sports wagering town. People look at me like I'm a hardened criminal when they hear I wager on sports.

I had one of my best 'capping years during my first season in 1978. I wish I could attribute that initial success to brains, discipline, proper $ mgmt, etc.....but I got lucky and have been hooked ever since.

Thankfully I've learned a lot along the way and for the most part, have done well.

Like you LV Old Timer, I've been lurking for a while and decided to come on board. Best of luck to you and everyone else here on the forum.
