How can you say avoid a taste for chalk over 1.40? It's all relative to the market.

Nimue77, while I agree with you in most cases, for most newbies getting acclimated to learning to primarily avoid chalky prices, seeking live dogs, knowing queer lines when they see them,etc..is what I would say is the first approach to take.

Though they may be the same things to a degree, I would say learning to successfully avoid soft chalk is a harder skill to refine than is finding the true live dogs with consistency.

Hell, it's all hard..win or lose.

Thanks for the explanation. Could someone enlighten me as to specifically why -140 should be avoided?

Phigment, it isn't so much a magical moneyline price(favs or dogs between 1.00 and 1.40), but rather the window that many baseball games are lined and played.

Plenty of baseball bettors will play dogs only, and some will play only favs when 1.40 or less(then primarily pass from forty & up, considering it "trying to buy a win")..my mention of it was as a parameter.

I get what you're saying.

Are those who only bet dogs doing so because it's a better return on the investment?

Baseball is a game of pennies, and shopping prices, and taking prices..all of which stretch and grow a bankroll.
