Took yesterday off and I'm glad I did as I went 1-3 if I were to play. I don't know what has happened, but these bowl games have all of sudden NOT gone my way. Started out hot, but now cold as ice, so take my plays with much caution....

YTD Bowls 8-5

Alabama pck
Purdue -8
Louisville -11
Miami -3

GL!! Out of the plays today I like Alabama the most as I think their defense will be the difference. I am playing my plays for VERY SMALL until some winning start happening again.....Also playing Louisville for a bit more as I think Boise's long streak comes to a BIG stop today!!

Hello Right Side...

Happy New Year!!

I left the Alabama/Minny game alone due to the fact that I thought the game was a toss up, mainly because Bama stops that run very well and that is Minny's bread and butter, however, I couldn't back Bama because they don't have a QB worth talking about.

I also left the Purdue/Arizona st game alone because the intangibles are too hard to figure, ASU QB Andrew Walter has a separated shoulder and is listed as not playing but I can't place real money on a Purdue team laying this many points because Purdue may have been exposed in their four game losing skid as a team that can't stop the run.

I stayed completely away from the Louisville/Boise St because I don't trust either defense to stop either offense, taking Boise St plus the double digit points is quite tempting and is probably the right side in this game in my opinion.

Boise St defeated Oregon St 53-34 and also defeated Fresno st 33-16 this year, however, Boise St won those two games on their blue smurf turf, Louisville played the overall harder schedule but I think this line is shaded a little too heavy because of Louisville's 70-7 win over Cincy and their 55-7 win over Tulane to close out their regular season.

Afterall we have to keep in mind that Cincy didn't have their starting QB and Tulane was only 5-6 on the year and were every other teams red-headed step child for the better part of the year....I'd lean to Boise St plus the points myself.

I did however make a substantial wager on Miami-Fla -3 last week and see them taking it to the gators in this game, the gators played tough in their final three games of the year and I think this is why alot of people are liking florida in this game, but it must be remembered that the gators last three games were against Vandy, Sou Caro, and Fla St.

In my humble opinion those final three wins by the gators were not that impressive because of the fact that Vandy finished the year at 2-9, South Carolina finished at 6-5 and was distracted by rumors of head coach Lou Holtz retiring, and Fla St has been so darn erratic with their QB merry go round this year that the gators 20-13 upset win as 7 pt dogs was easy to spot before it happened, the Hurricanes defeated the same Florida st team 10-6 to open the season.

take care and good luck...HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Hey GoSooners..

I hope you welcomed in the New Years in a safe and meaningful manner! My husband and I decided to do something different this year by going to our daughters house party instead of having our own party with a few couples over, its nice not to have to worry about the cleanup!

Most of the guests at my daughters house thought I was nuts, their all shooting pool or throwing darts or sitting at the bar in my daughters downstairs game room and there I sit glued to the TV watching the Miami game.

I just told them "Hey, I'll celebrate once the final gun sounds"!...Boston College and Miami were my two largest wagers of the Bowl season and fortunately for me I am now 8-2 so far with three wagers to go on Saturday, I'm still watching the line on the Monday and Tuesday games and will let the spread decide whether I make a play in those games or not.

Good luck and Happy New Year!

Deb
