Why the fck can't college head coaches such as Bruce Webber not reazlize the number of people with large amounts of money riding on the last 6 minutes of his games and play them accordingly.
Do the Illini alumni not wager? He empties his bench (OK, I understand he has 3 games in 3 days), but that doesn't mean he can't light a fire under his scrubs and get them to play with some pride in the final minutes.

On the wrong side of this **** two straight days (NW vs Mich yesterday and now this).

Watch Duke play. Coach K NEVER fails to cover a spread as a favorite when he has anything to say about it. He leaves his starters in and has some respect for us

Try This Instead!

Tough break and I've been there too many times! You might want to try betting 1st Half spreads so there isn't any letup? I've been doing it since Phair Warning mentioned it and I can't say that I've won every game (Ohio State -8 yesterday), but I don't get backdoored by my team playing the bench. Just a thought. Isn't that how one would cap games?

Which teams take the foot off the pedal (Illinois and it cost them the Ohio St game), which teams can't hit free throws (Cincy), which teams pour it on when they can (West Virg, and Boise in football), which teams foul even when they are down by 16 with 30 seconds left (San Diego State) and so on.

It is all a part of the big picture. I am not trying to rub it in - it sucks to be backdoored - but I want to stress is that you can use this knowledge in the future too.

The worst part is that I DID factor this into the handicap of the game and what I thought (obviously wrong) is that the Illini SCRUBS would be better than the NW starters should this scenario arise. Doesn't Ill have the pick of the litter to recruit?
