Just a quick rundown.

I'm heading out there for my 40th bday. We have never been. It will be 6 people...all like to drink, cut up, gamble, just easy come easy go

Will be out there from march 15-18 (which includes st pattys day)

So, we will mostly be doing some small gambling (craps, blackjack)...nothing big.....watching tournament basketball....eating some places.....just whatever really.

So.....

What are some places I should go to :

1) gamble
2) watch , bet on tournament bball
3) eat.....maybe some places that are unknown to most.
4) st patty day places to celebrate
5) any other ideas.....as we are all go-getters and up for most stuff.

Any places I must avoid or traps?

Thanks in advance for any help. Really appreciate it.
(I did use search, but iPad just pulled up Vegas promotion contest in a separate forum)

I really like the Southpoint. Off the beaten path but a nice casino and hotel. A good environment.

Where ya staying?

I'd stay downtown. Walk to several casinos all with a few blocks. Great blackjack at Elcortez, and decent craps downtown with 100x odds.

They have a new place tere called "container park" which is a cool little area with restaurants and shops.

I use to e into the strip, but being downtown still feels like "old vegas" in a sense.

Rio is a good option also, all junior suites and have free shuttles to the Strip (Bally's/Paris).

if you have car rented hoover dam is about an hour or so away and the and the grand canyon west with the skywalk is about 3 hours away not sure what time you'll have especially if its your 1st time to vegas but those are 2 options and worth the trip to see imo

like bigbet said, the downtown is the place you should be as its been so re-done and improved.its just a great place to carry on and be yourself.everything is also cheaper there.

i hate to bust your bubble on tournament games as there will be nothing really being played.with your dates that you listed it looks like you will be coming home on the 18th and that is the day they start the play in games to get in the tournament,so it seems your not really a ncaab fan if you thought it was going on

have a great time,...enjoy vegas,..everybody else does

KM a great time here as well, by the way i was at the carolina/duke game last nite and i really think this loss will help carolina going into tourney play.very hard to beat duke at home but carolina shot well, just the turnovers and fouls what got us

DUKES in the sleazy dirty old part of town has everything, atmosphere in spades. I stayed at a 99 a week place just down the road across from the youth hostel and played alot at the stratosphere. Spend some time wandedring down there at 4 am and buy a beer for a homeless vet. That's the way to do vegas right, EFF puffy combs and his crappy vodka trying to be the new Ratpack.
The ad has them walking to the airport in the AM to their plane after partying all night and then the voice over says DRINK RESPONSIBLY...

Video poker and karaoke at dukes is the way to go!
