If Nebraska cannot pry Walt Harris away from Pitt, and decide not to promote their DC, look for them to go after Mike Belloti from Oregon or to make a run for Mark Richt from Georgia.

This is from someone pretty close to the Nebraska program.

Also on the list if Glen Mason from Minnesota and Jim Donnan (formerly of UGa and Oklahoma Assistant under Switzer).

Why would Nebraska want Walt Harris (overrated) plus he has already said he didn't want the job.

Mike Belloti just signed a contract extension, so rule him out.

Don't think Mark Richt would leave Georgia, he already is having a powerhouse program there.

I believe it will be between Bo Pellini and I think Norman Chow has a good chance.

But then maybe Monte Kiffin might come back home!

I am a Husker and think that Bo Pellini would be the best for this team now.

Watch out the Solich asked the team to win the bowl game for him. Might be a very good beat.

belotti is not going anywhere i believ he just signed an extension yesterday thru 2008. the closest thing to a possible coach is the defensive coord from Tampa Bay.

nebraska exudes crap. They haven't been the same since the merger. texas and texas a.m. made the big eight schools improve the academic standards. Otherwise they wouldn't join. Nebraska was good until the last freshman class of the old 8 graduating or flunked out. Osbourne knew his cookies were toast and got the hell out. That solich was fired was an embarrassment. Nebraska is a dog in the 12.

Chico,

I would have to look, but I believe Nebraska was the most Academic All-Americans than any other school in football.

They have declined but it just shows you how good of a coach Tom Osbourne was.

Chico, looked it up for you.

Nebraska has more academic all americans than any other school in the country.

Nebraska now has 78 all-time academic All-Americans in football, and 210 across all sports and all teams, easily outdistancing all other schools.

Nebraska also had a conference-leading 26 players named to the Academic All-Big 12 team announced last week, including 20 first-team honorees
