Many games on the schedule as usual but wanted to get a feeling from unbiased players on this. If you haven't read my other posts, I am a husker fan and I love getting points, but I am also a realist, so I just wanted to know what everyones thoughts on this game is. My thoughts are that I can see why ppl think Wisc can win by 10+ but I can also see it being a boring grind it out type game, and although NEB has injuries on the front line, WISC lost their top tackler for the year, it is near the end of a conference gauntlet. Maybe OSU isn't as good as we thought they were, mich should have scored more vs wisc to not make the game as close in the eyes of fans, but on the flip side, NEB is beating up on anyone. If purdue didn't think they had to run trick plays they may have had a better chance to pull that upset. IDK, I just think this is a 17-13 type game either way. NEB has good/opportunistic secondary, getting westerkamp back is a big confidence booster in having a reliable 5-10 receiver on those 3rd downs. Not asking everyone to break it down, but I see this as a close game, OH and no pelini to put them in position to get blown out...lol

This line reminds me of the AU / Arkansas line last Sat. Whisky in a blow out

Will, I like the dog here, also. My only concern is whether I trust Tommy Armstrong against vaunted Badger D.

Neb won't be able to run the ball vs WI so it all comes down to TA's arm. Carter would be an even bigger boost than Westy back. He's so essential to their run game blocking scheme.

I actually prefer the over on the low total. Both defenses cause turnovers on D and could be some short fields to get over the 43. Nice weather too for Sat night.

I agree, like it or not Nebraska fans like myself know that we will need TA to play near flawless. Along with the O-line just playing avg, not horrible like last week. I think there will be a lot of 30yd hail marys coming from TA that he just hopes Reilly and Moore and Morgan can come down with. Westy is going to have to look that a poor man's Edelman/welker. I think TA is going to have to scramble a lot and pick up 1st downs with his legs. Either way, I am on pins and needles all week waiting for this game as it "would" be the biggest/most meaningful win in a long time. Although beating MSU last year was big, they weren't 7-0 at the time amongst other reasons. Getting down 14-0 right away or turning the ball over right away and this may get ugly for Nebraska. Anyways, enough HOMER talk from me, but I do like Nebraska to keep it closer than the experts think with a small chance of winning.

I like Neb to keep it close. I posted in another thread that Wisky has gone though Mich St, Mich, Ohio St, and Iowa in consecutive weeks. They only put up 17 points last week against Iowa and I just wonder with the injuries they've had, what they have left in the tank. Their offense if not very good and I think Nebraska will move the ball. I like Neb to keep this one really close.

man, I tell you what, I am getting more and more excited for this game. As long as NEB believes it can win, they will. The more I think about it, I think its going to be an ugly game and if, and its a BIG if, don't lose the TO battle, I think they win this game. I think Langsdorf will call a good game. I think it will start slow on both sides, but I think kicking will be big as well and I will take Brown over wisc kicker. I just feel the quietness out of Lincoln, and not a lot of talk, the respect they are giving Wisc, I just feel they are focused and ready to play. Nebraska needs to win the 50/50 balls which given the way TA throws the ball, the WR are used to it. They are bigger/more talented than WISC DB as a unit. The broken record that keeps playing is cant have TA toss one up for a WIS DB to fair catch. I gotta believe as well that Wisconsin has to feel beat up, tired, and a little sore from the schedule. Sorry for the rant! Homer fan is coming out of me!

I was looking on ESPN and it still says 10 BUT if you click on daily lines, it shows 8.5-9.5. My bad. Mothership is wrong again. NEVER TRUST THE 4 LETTER NETWORK!

Neb shoulda lost to Oregon had their idiot coach not gone for five 2pt conversions so I think Wisky by DD.

mango, come on man, that's just not smart to say. Yes, Oregon is not that good, neither is purdue, neither is really anyone on their schedule, but trying to look at it from a non-"public" POV is for Neb, they haven't lost, they have been in close games and actually won them this year, they have dominated 2nd halves and particularly 4th quarters, and they actually have a good defense, and a balanced offense that is respectable, especially if tommy takes care of the ball, and that is a big IF. For Wisc, they have obv played tougher schedule, been in the trenches vs better players with MICH/OSU/LSU, they have a really good defense, but I guess if I try to be fair, which is hard given that im 2 hours from Lincoln, WISC should have lost by a much greater margin vs MICH, and were taking to the end by a lower end GA ST, and obv OSU isn't who we thought they were. I guess, in the end, all I can say is NEB has won every game they are supposed to, offensively WISC is one dimensional, and I feel NEB has better special teams, besides clement, NEB has better skill players, especially WR vs DB as a unit, now, if WISC gets to TA every play, and cant get the ball to them which is a possibility, then WR v DB matchup doesn't matter. I think the play calling for NEB on offense will be good, def will be sound, and although NEB could very easily lose, I think it very well could be an 3-6 point loss or possibly a 3 point win for NEB. If Nebraska wins 20-16 or 17-13, is anyone going to be floored by that??

for all that being said, a lot of husker fans in my area like us to match up better next week vs tOSU. Sounds crazy, but we will see. IF a blowout happens against NEB and its like a 30-6 type game in favor of WISC, I will take my medicine, be back here owning my wrongs, will not run. BUT IF nebby pulls this out, no need to worry, I will have too many cocktails to even be able to operate a computer let alone type.

if they would have kicked xtra points every TD which we all know they go for 2 once or twice a game, score still would have been tied at end of regulation, its not like they would have had 40 to neb 35

Oregon had much better personnel when they played Neb than they have had in this losing streak

I'm a Badger fan, this is a big line. Wisconsin is offensively challenged averaging 24 PPG and only 19 PPG in conference. They have played against good defenses, but to give up 9-10 is too much to ask IMO

I am taking the points. I just see this as a close game and I certainly don't believe that Wisconsin can blow them out.

There are a dozen coulda-woulda-shoulda plays every game. I can paint a scenarion where Nebraska should have rolled Oregon, too. Neither happened though. NC State should have beat Clemson. Didnt happen.
