I went to change some money yesterday at 9 am at Scotia Bank in Escazu. Lucky thing I was the first person in line so it only took me about 5 minutes to get done because around 9:30 the bank was robbed at gunpoint.
La Nacion said 4 men came in dressed in ties and held the bank up and robbed about $50,000 taking 1 customer as hostage.
Since the monteverde bank robbery where several people got killed I am always hesitant about going into banks here. Now this incident will keep me away for a while.
I was lucky yesterday.
