auburn minus the points
sorry vanderbilt - your 4-0 is phony as a $3-dollar bill. outgained by 300+ yards on the season. cant throw the ball for shit. commies still a mediocre (at best) football team. auburn should dominate both lines of scrimmage.

toledo plus the points
wrong team favored in this game. ball state doesnt have the defense to lay conference road chalk. not having love wasnt a big deal against a pathetic kent state team. but it should prove to be a much bigger deal against UT. collins missed last weeks game against florida international but should be ready again this week. if so, he will get 100+ against the swiss cheese bsu defense. toledo lost a heartbreaker against fresno, felt sorry for themselves and were hung over last week. but theyre still 1-0 in mac play and in the small conferences thats all that matters.

tennessee minus the points
get-well game for the vols. they could easily be 3-1 right now but just couldnt get out of their own way in some of those games. this is hardly a bad football team. a few weeks ago, this line is 21+. now its less than 2 scores and a field goal. northern has been traveling all over the place to start the season. theyre not a good team in the first place. the last thing they need is to face a physical sec team on the back end of basically a month long road trip.

lean to purdue and nebraska. one of those two should challenge for a straight up win. might add one of those saturday. gl.

BOL with your plays this week :toast:

initially felt this was rout city also and still playing the game, but after Aub and Fla and with Georgia on deck, I have some concerns about the emotional state of Tenn (i.e. how do they get up for N. Ill.)

your thoughts??

ocean - i understand the concern on tennessee. but they arent in a position to take anyone lightly. they need to get some confidence back. it would be typical vols to hammer an overmatched opponent to almost tease their faithful into wondering 'what could have been.....' this year had they not imploded in the season opener.

First of all, my wallet would like to thank you for last nights Pitt/S Flo under.

Second, I strongly agree about Auburn. Vandy has been outgained in almost every game and their QB is averaging less than 100 yards passing per. Turnovers have kept them alive this season but they will not look like a top 20 team on Saturday night!!:toast:

I can't lay points on the road in the SEC, but Toledo looks solid as a rock already have plenty down on them. GL

Prodigy - Any thoughts on Ohio-Western Mich? Line keeps going up, leaning toward Ohio and their defense here.

Love all 3 plays and will likely be on all 3 sides myself.

What do you think of West Virginia/Rutgers this week?

As a Rutgers fan I am routinely blinded by the WVU aura (0-15 all-time in Morgantown; 0-13 over last 13 going back to 1995). But I am hearing whispers this is a far, far cry from the West Virginia teams of the past. Couple that with Pittsburgh's SU road win over a team that I thought was the best in the conference, and getting 2 TD's in points looks good in this game. Unfortunately all I look at is the fact that amidst the 2006 "dream season" despite all that magic swirling around, Pat White sitting out due to injury, and an Orange Bowl berth on the line, Rutgers still could not beat West Virginia in Morgantown, losing 41-39 in triple OT to Jarrett Brown and the Mountaineers.

fairwarn - tough game. that was the least appealing of all the mac games i looked at. just a bitch of a matchup to figure out. that said, you really cant go wrong with solich as an underdog. if nothing else, you will get a prepared, disciplined effort from the bobcats. you can count on a few fingers the number of teams id lay a TD worth of chalk with in this conference .... and wmu isnt one of them right now. think its ou or nothing.

jayrocker - both teams have crashed back to earth a bit this season but theres no doubt wvu still commands a lot of public money. you know me, i dont give two shits about bogus public numbers and all that nonsense, so im not coming at it from that angle. but by commanding public money, im talking about the fact that the numbers on wvu games are going to continue to be higher than they should be simply because the mounties have established enough of a following that people will bet their games despite the fact that their lines dont reflect the team they are putting on the field this season. everyone is waiting for that week when wvu magically flips the switch and looks like they did in the early part of 2007. ya know what? its probably not going to happen. they are playing with no swagger at all and they dont intimidate teams any more. so i wouldnt worry about capping the past history in the matchup. basically wvu dominated weaker rutgers teams, and then when rutgers got significantly better ... wvu's program was peaking as well. now though, i dont think wvu has the kind of leaders or coaching staff that will be trying to 'protect' some kind of dominance or tradition. as you know, i really have my questions on teel. he has cost them 3-4 games in the last few years on his shoulders alone. i dont like backing him when he feels he has to put the game on his shoulders. but if rutgers can get some sort of consistent ground game going, this is a game decided in the fourth quarter imo. is wvu the better team? definitely. as much as the line says? absolutely not. can wvu win 38-21? no doubt. but odds are its a single digit game. gl.

Thanks Prodigy.

Jayrocker, I have faded Rutgers all year. It may be a good spot to play on them here. Is the thumb injury to White on his passing hand? If so, I like RU.

not particularly fond of either game, but think notre dame and wisconsin are the ways to go. irish finally starting to show some signs of looking like a good football team. still a ways to go for nd, but they are playing with confidence. i would never trust stanford traveling east and getting < double digits. as for the ohio state game, check the buckeyes numbers over the years when playing big ten road night games. obviously games are mutually exclusive, but the point is that winning conference road games is tough enough. doing so in primetime is even tougher. its not just the buckeyes who have struggled over the years in this area. having said all that, osu is a completely different team with pryor so im not in a hurry to go against them. but wisconsin has always played good ohio state teams very well, mainly because they know the way to win big games - running the ball, controlling LOS, and playing good defense. a lot of teams cant do that against osu. wisky can.
