The worst zebras of any sport at any level. They are impact players and proud of it.

Did they get a single call right down the stretch? For either team?

How much did they ignore?

How many did they blow?

What a bunch of clowns.

:pucking:

Superstar protection, inconsistent, blind & dumb. It don't get any better den dat.

And I don't think the games are fixed, I just believe NBA officials are as dumb as they come, and arrogant too.

This is just another example of how David Stern wants this to be played out. The zebras are just following orders.

did you have Detroit? :>

Actually, I did one bet today. A parlay with Detroit -6 and Oakland + 160 (or so).

Did any lucky SOB have both Miami & Texas?

I'm not complaining about umpires, just NBA officials. And I'm consistent with this gripe, win or lose, they are impact players. Everybody knows they're there, nobody knows what they're going to call or why.

I've actually mocked them after winning games.

I agree. I did not have a bet, but the game has obviously passed Dick Bavetta guy, and they continue to throw him out there at this late stage of the season with everything on the line. Know when to quit. g

I talked about this on another forum a couple days ago. NBA is the hardest sport to officiate. Every play could be considered a foul in someones eyes, depending on how each person interprets it. It's basically a lose lose for the refs. If they make a call, someone will say its bad. If they don't make a call, someone will say they should have made the call. Sure there will be some times when the refs blow a pretty obvious call, but with the action moving that fast you have to make quick decisiions. I will give the refs the benefit of the doubt, I think they try there best out there.

Did you see the game last night? Of course some calls are close and could go either way. But sometimes it just gets ridiculous. In game 7 SA/DAL series, they were letting Tim Duncan get away with murder in the 2nd half, and I admit this even though I had the Spurs. Officiating has been absolutely horrific in these playoffs, and I am not saying that cause I'm sour grapes. Several times it has benefitted me as well, and all you can really do is just laugh.
Bevetta has now missed 2 crucial time-out calls at the end of games, one with Nash and now with Prince. However, Prince takes a share of the blame for last night's missed call as he didn't put his hands into a "T," he just yelled "Time Out" and expected a 113-year-old man to hear him.

Yea I admit refs have made some bad calls during the playoffs. And I do think refs can bepartial to the crowd, like what you said with Duncan, but tell me a sport where that doesn't happen. If everyone thinks the refs are such a huge factor, why not a. just not bet the game, and just watch and enjoy, the phoenix/dallas game was great the other night, or b. try to come up with some formula for the refs heh. I don't know. I mean, do you want robots out there officiating calls. There always will be errors in judgment. The reason why basketball gets so much flack is because everyone can interpret a foul a different way.

Did you guys see how old Bavetta looks, he looks like Bruce Dern on "Big Love" the new HBO hit series...no seriously if he is one of the 6 best ref's in the NBA there needs to be a overhaul of all officials and a new evaluation system

I'm fine with the officiating. Sure, there's obvious no calls sometimes, but in a quick judgment its not as easy as you think to make the correct call. I like it way better then the NFL using instant replay. NFL is the worst in my opinion.

How does instant replay take away from NFL officiating? The NFL makes sure its officials get calls right, the NBA does not. I am not sure what you are thinking here...

Yeah instant replay makes sure the play is right, hard to see everything on a 100 yard football field

The NBA just keeps throwing Dick Bavetta and Joe Crawford out there for big games, and it is taking so much away from the game it is a joke. All betting/losing, ATS stuff aside, THEY ARE FLAT OUT GUESSING. THE GAME HAS PASSED YOU BY...STEP DOWN! The players know it, the fans know it, the coaches know it, and us handicappers know it. The Pistons would have strung Bavetta up last night, had they lost... Did you see them after the game?

All you need to do is look at the box score to see if anything fishy is going on a game. When both teams are shooting roughly the same amount of freethrows, then you know the refs are doing a great job and basically letting the teams decide the winner, but when you see one team shooting more freethrows at a 3-1 pace, then you dont have to be a rocket scientist to figure out the refs are trying to control whos gonna win the game, doesnt always work, but they are trying for sure. When people finally start to realize that sports is huge money industry, no differnt then any company trying to make money selling goods, then you will have gained some knowledge. There is just to much money, for stern to let any team roll over another team, without getting every last dime out of every series.
Years ago teams used to sweep other teams in the playoffs on a regular basis, now you got almost every game going to a game 7.
Its all about the dead presidents, my friends.
