Heat definately have the most talent to do it. I'm going with a dark horse.......INDIANA PACERS. If rookie David Granger can become a consistent threat by the end of the season.

Boy, do I hope that you are right. They have a great chance, as they should be right there at the end. I like them to play the Pacers in the East Finals, as both Miami and Indiana if healthy are better than Detroit. Dont see Cleveland as a real threat. They will surely be improved and will make the playoffs, but dont think that they are ready for the big boys yet.

Miami may start slow, as they need time to gel with each other. Tons of new faces on the team. But I hope they do win it all, I am sitting with an 8-1 wager on that. :103631605

I am not a Nets fan, but i am surprised nobody is talking about the Nets. They have added much depth to their rooster, and they have with Carter, Kidd and Jefferson one of the best trio playing together in the nba. When you add M. Jackson you have 4 players in starting five who are able to score each 20 points in every game. I just want to throw another name in the game. I know they are not on public's radar like Heat, Pacers or Pistons, but when i take a closer look at the rooster, they don't need to hide against Pacers, Pistons or Cleveland. Maybe Heat are stronger, but the rest? Not so sure.

cheers,

Not so sure about the Nets. I do think that they are the team to beat in the Atlantic, but after that, I am not impressed. Kidd is no longer the player that he used to be in my opinion. What have Vince Carter's teams ever done in the past? Nothing. He is a great talent, but still does not know how to play the game. Terrible shot selecltions at times. The team is thin in the frontcourt and also is not a great defensive team. I do think that they will be vastly improved from last season, but would not label them contenders. I see a 45-48 win season and them getting ousted in the second round. Do remember that they were swept by a SHAQ-less Heat team last season in the playoffs.

Congrats spreadbeater,

I do believe you are sitting on a winning 8-1 ticket, how much did you bet? I sure wish i had a good few grand to place on it, because I'm quite sure of this one. For those of you who don't track my futures selections, I was dead on with Hou/Chw for the World Series, Sox to win - so far since I officially started. I am planning on placing all my upcoming futures in a giant parlay to win a great sum, and am also considering if there's a market out there for people to buy my futures, anyone interested?

Can't have Heat just seems too easy. The fact that SHAQ sought out GLOVE to come to Miami doesn't speak volumes for WADE. Not really sure what this means cause WADE is great. WALKER will help but honestly this team will take time to gel. Sure they have alot of firepower but this doesn't automatically equal championship. They have lost some players also. SHAQ is on the decline. SHAQ can still dominate but not like he used to. DETROIT can definately handle him as evidenced the last two years eliminating him.

I agree with Colton NEW JERSEY is definately darkhorse. KIDD now has McINNIS as partner in crime to run shit for the NETS. McINNIS was great for the CAVS last year and he made them go. I watched a fair bit of NJ's preseason games and it seems JEFFERSON and VC have quite the understanding going on. The only thing they need is low post threat to open it up alittle bit for them. NJ just doesn't have the shooters in half court sets. Their transition D is quite good and they will trap alot and get out and run. You will see plenty of nasty finishes from RJ and VC.

INDY look solid. CAVS will struggle early be careful with them. I know people might laugh but BUCKS are no joke as long as TJ FORD runs point. He is lightning! And Chicago has quite a talented team with good guards, they don't seem to lean to heavily on anyone player, good mix.
