This is shaping up as another ground war between the two service academies and we have seen sharp action on Navy as they opened as a 1 ½ point dog but are now installed as 2 ½ point neutral site chalk over Army. There won’t be much for the secondaries to do except close quickly on the ball carriers should they reach the second level.

As for the rushing attacks, Navy is averaging 239.5 yards per game, good for 7th in the nation, while Army relentlessly runs the rock, averaging 304.3 yards per game, and is 2nd in the nation in that category. But stopping those defenses will be the key which is why the Middies are getting so much play.

Navy ranks 4th stopping the run while Army is way down at 116th, one of the very worst in college football. Let’s watch an afternoon of ground-and-pound with Navy coming out on top by a touchdown or more.
