I just withdrew all my funds and closed my account with mybookie.com. I believe their website is very deceptive with respect to their "payout" policy.

Their website states: "Payment requests can be made over the phone between the hours of 12-4 pm EST Mon-Fri...Express Courier takes 3-5 days from date of request with a $40 service fee."

This afternoon I called to make my first "payout" request and was promptly told that all payouts go out "on Mondays only." Thus, since my request was not made by the "previous Friday deadline," I would have to wait until next Monday, March 14, 2005 before my payout could be processed.

So, in sum, today's payout request will not be processed for 7 calendar days, and THEN it will be sent to me from San Jose, Costa Rica via FedEx...arriving by Friday March 20, 2005.

MYBOOKIE's explanation is completely at odds with the language published on their website (arrival of funds "3-5 DAYS FROM DATE OF REQUEST...")
As set forth on their website, I should have the funds 3-5 days from today's date, which is, in fact, the actual "DATE OF REQUEST."

A 7-10 day delay may not sound like a big deal to many bettors, but there are too many legitimate competitors of mybookie.com out there who pay winnings IMMEDIATELY. Once again, I've had yet another bad experience with a Costa Rica-based book. I strongly recommend all bettors keep their money in Canada, Australia and Europe (WSEX in Antigua being the lone exception).

Sorry Ace, I thought this forum was for monitoring the marketplace and protecting consumers from sportsbook scams. Didn't know it was also a social scene for lonely souls (over 1400 posts).

Regardless of how many posts this guy has, if this is mybookie's policy it does suck. Books should be able to process cheques M-F. I wouldn't by any means put this in a "scam" category but it is an unusual policy.

He was just being on the defensive.....don't worry, by those definitions you aren't the biggest loser.

D-Train,

I just went over to MyBookie's web site and reviewed their payout rules. I think you have a legitimate gripe with these fellas. I came to the same conclusion as you did about the dates and times of their payouts.

We may be wrong here but maybe someone from The Prescription could call them and try to help you out with the situation. I see that they are an advertiser here in this forum. That should hold some clout with them.:icon_conf

Good luck.:103631605 I hate to hear about a slow pay. Especially from an advertiser.:icon_conf

Thanks K.K. for the advice, but I've never received any help from the editors of this forum...especially when it comes to so called "PREFERRED BOOKS." A couple years ago I had a much worse problem with sportsbet.com (cancelled bet due to "palpable error"), which at the time was an advertisor on this site, and I received no help at all from the wonderful people at therx.com.

Can you say, "Conflict of Interest"?

I have over 6000 posts....

HOWEVER,

my very first post was in relation to a slow pay situation, it was how I found the RX in the first place....

unfortunatly there are so many ghosts who appear when something goes wrong that it ruins ot for the rest of them....

it is a chitty policy (by mybookie) that is, no reason to blame the entire country however?

may I also mention that it is beyond me why people do not use NETELLER to avoid all this BS

i find it more offensive that someone would attack someone when they illustrate a clear problem with a sportsbooks disceptive policies. Who cares if he has 4 posts or 4,000. And if a majority of acedeucetrey's posts are like the one above then he hasnt contributed any more than dtrain.

However, i agree with sportssavant that anyone who doesnt use neteller is years behind the times.

Never did like My Bookie's payout excuses when I USE to deposit there. One reason why I didn't reup. Then they got me for being a sharp player and so I never looked back. 2nd rate shop as far as I'm concerned. # of other places anybody can go and get better service.

Ace,

You were way out of line this time. ANyone who has actually played at mybookie, could confirm that what the poster said is entirely true. I had the very same experience a year and a half ago. Payout rules are very unclear. Basically you can reuqest a payout mon-friday. But they only proceess payouts for checks on Friday. And its not until Tuesday that the check gets to fed ex, and its only on wednesday or thursday that the players recieve the checks. Its a very slow process indeed. The problem is, you can't always withdraw more than you deposited by neteller. So they force some cusotmers to take a check.

The book is great for brainless people who want a place to play. Its also great for sharps who want to get in and out quickly and grab a nice bonus, and a couple of sweet lines. But the book is awful for anyone with a brain look for a place to play long term

I apologize for jumping to conclusions to quickly. I saw a guy with only 4 post and the other 3 were also complaining about the same book. I just do not understand why when someone has a complaint about an advertiser here they usually go and post under a "ghost" or worse yet just go around bashing books. I am not saying this is the case this time, but you have to admit most of the time that is exactly what happens. I haved used mybookie and have not had any problems (netteller) and I guess I was a little too quick to defend them. Again to Dtrain, I hope you can accept my apology and I hope to see you post some good experiences in the future.

Ace,

I agree with you. 9 out of 10 time, when I see a new poster, if he posts about a good experience, I think he's a schill, and if he posts about a bad experience, especially with a book that I like, I think he's a scammer. And a lot of times you see "new posters" because a rehualr poster used a beard, and now has to decided whether to post a story about a friend, or whether to create a second persona to post under.

I'm just so suprised more posters here aren't aware of mybookie's payout policies. Considering mybookie is an advertiser, one of the mods should have just told dtrain nto to worry, its not s alow pay, he's not getting the run around, this si just the way they deal with checks.
