Kansas -21.5 vs Florida Atlantic

Jayhawks return alot of quality players from a defense that played well in the big XII last season , a couple playmakers on defense could put up points for the Jayhawks or set them up with good field position , on offense for the Hawks i except them to use their size advantage on the undersized front 4 of FAU, Adam Barmann looks to continue improving off a decent soph year , Florida Atlantic got ???? all over the field and now they are missing practice with the hurricane season causing havoc , they have lots of questions on the o-line and i expect the hawks defense to keep them on the other side of the 50 most of the night , 38-10 Jayhawks in a total rout

Penn St -22 vs USF

i really liked this game alot before Penn St came into some injury , off field , and classroom problems, but im still taking the lions anyway. Penn St's defense was 1 of the best last year despite the poor record and its returning most of its top players , Penn St will comeout pounding the ball behind their huge o-line going against an undersize USF front 4 , i expect tony hunt and austin scott to have big games , michael robinson is determined to prove he is a legit QB, but he wont have to vs a poor pass D , USF's only hope is to try to establish a run game with andre hall, i dont expect too much from him against penn st , last year with their poor offense, PSU still put up 48 and 37 points vs defenses similar to USF, Penn St holds onto the football this will be an easy cover , Penn St 41-13 over a much outclassed Bulls squad

Western Michigan +33 at Virginia

The broncos start the 2005 season under new coach Bill Cubit looking to turn around from a dismal 1-10 season and that win was vs 1-AA Tennessee Martin. The Broncos game plan for 2005 will be using a 2 back offense that will like to run the ball and throw quick timing routes using their athletic WRs and TE all behind a decent o-line to control the clock, top WR greg jennings (74 catches 1092 yards) is also a top punt returner , taking 2 to the house last year . Virginia will try to get pressure on Cubit to disrupt their passing game with a blitzing 3-4 Scheme that allowed the cavs to sack the QB 34 times last year. On offense the cavs enjoyed running the ball at will on most teams last year , averaging 243 yards/gm on the ground , QB Hagans is a decent passer and is very careful with the passes , only 5 INTs in 261 Attempts last year , the Cavs will have their way moving the ball by land and air , scoring many points, but i see the broncos putting a few points on the board and running some clock while at it , Cavs win easily but i feel 33 is too much in this game , Cavs 48-21

Wisconsin -2.5 vs Bowling Green

Fading most of the public in this game , i waited til this game went under 3 to play . Bowling Green's explosive offense comes up to camp randall to face the badgers in coach's last season opener. Wisconsin , known for running the ball right up the middle behind their huge offensive line will try to establish this against the falcons defense that has an undersized D-Line , top starting tackle listed at 280, I expect the Badgers to run for alot of yards , which good running teams last year had success vs the falcons, brian calhoun is ready to play after sitting out last year for transferring reasons and will love running behind the monsters up front for the badgers , john stocco has most of his recieving weapons returning from last year , the badgers d-line lacks experience but not size nor speed , i expect them to contain the running of PJ Pope and Omar Jacobs , the badgers have a solid LB core returning and their DBs have the size and speed to play with the falcons spread offense , i expect the falcons to be able to score some points , but not enough as the badgers will use their running game to set up a big pass play or 2 , Badgers 31-24 win in an exciting game

Buffalo +18 at Uconn

Uconn comes in this game breaking in a new QB and 3 starters on the o-line , this has been 2 of their biggest strengths over the last couple season, and 2 of the new starting o-linemen are injured with the new center out for the season with a neck injury and the huskies #1 WR is questionable with an ankle injury , all this leads more pressure on the RB Brockington who enjoyed running behind their good line and benefitting off effective play action passing , Buffalo returns their front 7 from last years defense that was pretty good at getting pressure on the QB, the bulls defense did take a big loss by losing their redshirt corner aaron leeper to injury , but have james evans, who started 9 games at CB as a true freshman, to take leeper's spot , the bulls will try to run the ball with a couple differenrt backs getting some touches steven king and chris mcduffie look to run behind a decent o-line , especially running to the left behind a couple of experienced seniors with good size against an undersized Uconn d-line , the bulls start sampsel at qb for this game , sampsel doesnt have much experince playing in real games , but i dont think the pass offense can get much worse than last year for the bulls , who averaged 121 passing yards a game. Uconn returns a good defense with many athletic players that like to swarm the ball, expect them to load up on the run trying to make the bulls beat them throwing , in the end i feel the huskies do not have the offensive power as years before to blow this game apart , look for the bulls to keep it within 2 scores , Huskies 27 - 14
