Houston -2 (buying half point)
Before I hear it from everyone about this line, I posted to play the Rockets at -2 in my playoff thread as soon as the line opened. I would still recomend playing the Rockets, buying them down to -3 from the current 3.5/4.
As posted in my playoff thread, I played Dallas to win the series when the Mavericks were down 1-0. Even though I have that play still pending, I absolutely love the Rockets to win tonight to force a game 7. As some of you guys may remember, there was a thread that someone started "Can The Mavericks Come back and Win?". This was when the Mavericks were down 2-0. I think that I was one of the only people that actually thought that they had a good chance to come back and win. I still do, however, they will not get it done tonight. One of the reasons why I thought the Mavericks would still be in the series is because these two teams are extremely evenly matched. It is very difficult for any NBA team to win 4 straight against an opponent, and much more difficult if the two teams are this evenly matched. I simply do not see Dallas pulling off 4 in a row overall and 3 in a row at Houston. Although Dallas won the first two in Houston, they had to come back in both games to get the win. Dallas had to have a 20-0 scoring run in game 3 to come back and win in Houston. In game 4, Dallas was down once again and went on a similar run in the middle of the fourth quarter to get back in the game and eventually win. I just do not see the same happening again.
Houston was in the last game until the end at Dallas and if it wasnt for some critical missed free throws, they could have pulled that one out. I fully ecpect the Rockets to be on a mission tonight, as their backs are against the wall. I fully expect a great performance from McGrady and solid contributions from both Yao and David Wesley. This one is going 7. Rockets will win tonight.
Once again, about the line. I played this as soon as it opened, buying it to -2 from 2.5. If I had to play it now, I would buy it down to -3 from 3.5/4. It would still be a very strong play. I just do not see Dallas winning 4 in a row and 3 in a row at Houston. I cannot see it. Plain and simple. Houston is the better team in my opinion and they will show it tonight. Good luck guys!
